I am SHOCKED and INCENCED that someone would DO SUCH A THING! I don't think I can sleep for days (nay make that YEARS) because of the trauma delt to my brain upon reading this.

i hope turn 10 comes to realize that..

a psp game has more cars in it than their full blown HD game. i guess a big ego somewhere needs deflating...

and having way more cars than anyone will ever car to drive or even look at in a game means that it is a better game?  I think someone needs a reality check...

Well, considering that was something the Forza dev was bragging about...

Prediction:

TGS this year for PS3 will be amazing.

Grandia comes to PSN(PSone classic).

First Versus gameplay this year.

lol arrogant developer.

They seem to be getting ahead of themselves. They're finally catching up to prologue.

Then why is Polyphony Digital scared of Forza

"Perhaps the most surprising to me was when a couple developers from Gran Turismo makers Polyphony Digital came by to personally get hands-on with Forza 3, all the while taking careful notes, examining our UI system, shooting photos, and directly asking us some pretty interesting questions. The reason I say I was personally surprised was because PD aren’t generally known as a studio to acknowledge that there are racing games that exist beyond their own. Which could explain why the GT franchise has been so stagnant in the racing genre since GT3. So it seems competition is good for the consumer after all. I know for a fact that Turn 10 will never stop pushing racing games to the next level."

Ah yes, the same Che that said there was no way GT5 would be able to display more than 2 cars on screen with the same model quality of GTHD. The same Che that also said that there was no way PD would implement fully-rendered car interiors. That guy? Awesome.

Post from a gaffer and simply had to post it because I could not agree! Che is very very well known for talking out his ass and having a hate for PD which could only be justified if Yamauchi ran over his dog. Don't trust eveything you hear about what a developer of Forza has to say about GT or vice versa. ;)

On top of that people getting really carried away here saying Forza 3 actually tops GT5:P graphically in car models and tracks. Sure one can be hyped for the game but no point in going over the top.

how can GT compete with Forza when both games sre out on two different systems and is directed towards different racing fans. yhe hardcore racing fan and the causual facing fan.

This hand of mine is burning red. It's loud cry is telling me to grasp victory.....SEKIHA TENKYOKEN!!!

Question, how do any of you know how much Greenwalt knows about GT5? Aren't you assuming you know as much about Forza's main competitor as the creator of Forza and MS themselves? None of you even knew about Natal before it was released. Do you think Greenwalt did? Maybe he knows more than you think. In fact, he does know more than you think.

I'm not defending him, but I will just say this:

CliffyB said the same thing about Gears 2, when R2 was coming out.

He was absolutely right.

However, he was also severely flamed by PS fans, and never apologized to.

This is called expectation, CliffyB expected his game to be superior to R2 and felt confident with the prophecy which indeed came true. Gears 2 was a superior game both commercially and critically.

I'm sure Forza's developer also has high expectation, they might even know more about GT5 than an average consumer as their surely would be community gossip on some level (maybe even corporate espionage lol) but do you honestly think that Sony willingly approach Turn-10 and said hey guys these are our features for GT5 can you 1up us?

And that's essentially what he is saying. He could be right for all we know and its definitely some sort of PR thing but come on! Them's fighting word! Of course fans would respond to something like that.

As he doesn't work at Polyphony, it's safe to assume he doesn't know much.

Oh, and congratulations on using the same Cliffy B/Resistance 2 point twice in the same day; shame it was absolutely irrelevant this time around.

Of course Forza developers would say that. But the truth is, Gran Turismo 5 is 50x better then Forza 3

You sure it isn't either 49.35 times, or 56.85 times better than Forza 3?

well lets make things perfectly clear right now.

if a psp gt game can have more cars than a full on HD game (and i know that number of cars isn't the only measure of a great racing game), it speaks volumes about the attitude of a developer. basically, polyphony digital are perfectionists and they'll put in whatever they can fit. turn 10 will do what is expected of them and no more.

again, if a psp gt game can have more content than a full console game, imagine what the console gt game can contain. can microsoft really say all this nonsense with a straight face, when they're actually being one-upped by a handheld game?

the reality of the comparison between forza and gt is thus:

forza = casual's racing game.
gran turismo = enthusiast's driving simulator.

and since he's on the subject of competition ("no racing game can compete with us now"), why doesn't he bring up sales figures.

GT5 Prologue, essentially a demo, has nearly the same amount of sales as their full on Forza 2. Is this guy really sure, then, that their racer is the top dog in the industry? When Forza 2 only did less than half of what a regular GT game makes (GT regularly makes 10 million easily)?

PR stunt. The classic "insult the top guy in the industry to try to catch some of his thunder" gimmick. basically what he's trying to do here is to make fans believe that Forza and GT are actually on the same level.

The reality is, forza is minor league. GT is where the major league pros play.

Surely it must be the reverse, seeing as casuals vastly outnumber core/hardcore gamers. See Mario Kart for another referrence. Since GT5 is the highest selling game, it must be the most casual.

Tease.
