Forums - Microsoft - "Gran Turismo does not move the genre foreward, Forza does."

Tell that to the millions of sales that the Grand Turismo games have.

Question, how do any of you know how much Greenwalt knows about GT5? Aren't you assuming you know as much about Forza's main competitor as the creator of Forza and MS themselves? None of you even knew about Natal before it was released. Do you think Greenwalt did? Maybe he knows more than you think. In fact, he does know more than you think.

I'm not defending him, but I will just say this:

CliffyB said the same thing about Gears 2, when R2 was coming out.

He was absolutely right.

However, he was also severely flamed by PS fans, and never apologized to.

The only way Greenwalt would know more than gamers, is if he had a spy at polyphony.

I wonder what he'll say when first week sales and the reviews for GT5 roll-in?

Prediction:

TGS this year for PS3 will be amazing.

Grandia comes to PSN(PSone classic).

First Versus gameplay this year.

The Adventures Of Duane and Brando

i hope turn 10 comes to realize that..

a psp game has more cars in it than their full blown HD game. i guess a big ego somewhere needs deflating...

Well to be fair, it's quite likely that PSP game is going to have more cars than GT5 also.

The guy is being a bit of a douche about it, but looking at the last few releases, he actually is correct. Forza has added a lot of features to their games that Polyphony doesn't offer until a few years later. That much is undeniable. Forza did online first. Forza did damaging first. Forza did external customization first(Not entirely sure on this one). Since Forza has been on the market, what has GT brought to the table that was ahead of the curve and is something Forza needs to catch up on? This is a legit question as I'm not completely familiar with the two series.

So yeah, bow to my superiority.

Then why is Polyphony Digital scared of Forza

"Perhaps the most surprising to me was when a couple developers from Gran Turismo makers Polyphony Digital came by to personally get hands-on with Forza 3, all the while taking careful notes, examining our UI system, shooting photos, and directly asking us some pretty interesting questions. The reason I say I was personally surprised was because PD aren’t generally known as a studio to acknowledge that there are racing games that exist beyond their own. Which could explain why the GT franchise has been so stagnant in the racing genre since GT3. So it seems competition is good for the consumer after all. I know for a fact that Turn 10 will never stop pushing racing games to the next level."

Come on guys, the guy is simply trying to get some hype for his game. Would anyone be talking about it if he just came out and said, ya Forza 3 is pretty good? HELL NO! I don't blame him for talking a little smack. It has everyone here in a tissy and game forums all over the planet talking about it. Good for him I say.

From what I have seen the game looks fantastic, the cars and tracks look unmatched so far. To be honest, I would be more worried about Forza 3 if they weren't being so cocky. They really seem to think they have a winner and I'm excited for it. GO TURN 10!!

and having way more cars than anyone will ever car to drive or even look at in a game means that it is a better game?  I think someone needs a reality check...
