Sony America’s Peter Dille has revealed that the format holder has already started churning out development kits for its motion-sensing ‘wand’ to third party developers, saying companies “couldn't be more excited" about the new tech.

"We're a little bit past the research phase," said Dille, during an interview with Gamespot. “We're having conversations with the third-party community. The dev kits have started to go out to the third parties as well. They're working on the tech. They couldn't be more excited about it."

Sony previewed the new peripheral during its E3 press conference on Tuesday, though it remains unknown as to when the device will hit retailers.

Well some of you guys are hating on the wand but i think it's awesome. And it's good to know that third parties are interested in it.

I told people that Sony already passed this on to third parties. So many people were like "lol if sony had this in deeper development they would have shown motre than tech demos" I tried telling them theyll be surprised

I thought the tech demos were awesome XD it's a great way of actually showing off your gear in a multitude of ways :p

^You hear the crowd when he used the arrows ? they went WOW and clapped XD and when he drew in the air... they got pretty damn hyped too i'd say.

yea the crowd was very impressed, though its funny in some trolls threads ppl are saying they were being laughed at..really makes me mad

Yea it was pretty obvious that they got excited over it :p..

 

Haters be haters. If sony does some cool stuff with it.. it's gonna be awesome.

What? This is news? The wand development kits went out years ago.

They just had the word "Wii" on them back then.

Thanks to the Wii actually these third-party developers already know more stuff about how to program motion controls. So I guess the "wand development kits" that came out years ago can only help Sony ;)
