"@CaptDS9E still keeping xbox originals around!"
eh so Jade Empire, Ghoulies, and Shenmue 2 would be cheaper at a indie game store? I know a couple, hope those games are compatible time to google.
If they are on Xbox Originals, they are backwards compatible via disc

if you buy shenmue 2 at a store, you get the dvd movie of number 1 which actually saw theatrical release in japan
which is insane if you watch the dvd and imagine a theatre watching it
'excuse me. excuse me do you know where i casn find sailors?'
note that i do love this game, but its hilarious
well buying at xbox originals helps the developers.Rare said that if enough copies of Grabbed by Ghoulies are bought them they will make a sequel
Aside from Sudeki, Advent Rising, Psi-Ops (BUY THIS GAME), and the two KotOR games, there's nothing I want from the original Xbox, anyway. And most of the games that have backwards compatibility are cheaper than $10 and are still easy to find.
I just wonder what happened to the overall support to make all games eventually backwards. I mean, a lot of games are backwards but now that I got a arcade stick it would have been nice for them to even make the stinkers backwards (SVC Chaos, Fighting Evolution... and of course the gem Capcom vs SNK2 as the servers are still up on XBox/peer to peer lives). My friend mentioned that MS had to pay licensing fees or something like that from now if they wanted to make more titles backwards but I don't know how true that is seeing that the Wii is 100% backwards and Sony only took out their emotion engine out of the PS3 to reduce costs. He said it had something to do with the graphics card.
I guess having 51% of the games backwards wasn't bad overall though. Oddly enough Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance isn't backwards despite all the fans complaining for MGS4 not on XBox and we are getting Raiden down the line.
It's just that simple.
