I saw the news about no more XBox Originals over Live?  One way I read that is they are being discontinued.  Another news report said that they aren't going to release any new ones.  Anyone know which is the story?

I believe it means no new ones. They have stated that there are 1-2 more XBO's to put on the marketplace, which should signal that they'll exist for quite some time.

It's really too bad, there are plenty of gems on the old Xbox that could used BC. I think MS feel it will cannibalized the new full game download feature they are implementing.

Not that it's hard to find used copyon ebay for most of the titels, but it would be a nice addition.  I am sure they probably did internal testing cost vs profit and realize it was not as profitable as pushing XBLA games and DLC.

Ok, that is good.  XBox originals should be used to fill in the gaps in the library of the XBox 360.

It is probably due to not many sales. The effort to make them downloadable isn't worth it.

I sent a message to some of the Xbox people on twitter to get clarification. I would doubt they are gonna take them down. Just won't be adding anymore after the next couple. Truth is it's cheaper to buy a used copy of most of the games on there. The backwards compatibility list has hit all the key titles. Only ones not on there are Riddick (because of the remake) and beyond good and evil because of all the strange programming they did with it. Can't think of any other big titles that don't work.

There are some places where it's hard to get certain titles. It was a giant pain in the butt trying to find any copy of Indigo Prophecy in our area. Finally after months of trying to get a sealed copy, that week it went up on the marketplace. lol.
