Forums - Microsoft - Media going crazy over Project Natal

http://thegamingdungeon.com/2009/06/05/project-natal-controllerless-issues/

This guy just reamed Natal for not being able to play games that need a controller. Too bad, as I mentioned in a post earlier, that Natal works perfectly fine with a controller. Now that we have the hardcore guys who want their FPS games to have a little Natal involved(I really could care less about shoe horning an FPS into Natal), but now controller free Natal games can be made without looking like they destroyed their core game brethren.

The technology really has the potential to be revolutionary to the gaming industry- MS just has to market it right and make sure it gets enough attention and games.

It will get overshadowed by PS3 motion + PS3 and Wii price cuts when it launches, so MS better be ready for the competition every console will be pushing motion as if it the best thing in the world.

They will be pushing the new Halo next year as well.  Which will be huge.  And could possibly involve Natal.  They gave Bungie Natal kits early.

well i doubt they even think of getting it out until next e3 since they really didn't give a time line to my knowledge

For me, NATAL was the only 'big' announcement from E3. Its serious future tech, and has amazing potential. Its also completely different from the Wiimote, in terms of use and games.

Its more about the software than hardware BTW - high precision cameras are useless without the smarts.

Really! Media hyping up something Microsoft related! Thats unheard of.

Well if you own billions of dollars and own loads of media sites, and pay the rest, magic can happen.

Sadly Nintendo and to some degree Sony need to learn to bribe the media too.

Even EA are good at it with their fake protest lol. Which shot them in the arse in the end haha.

Fail much? The media turned the Wii into the success it is, and it happened with considerable spendings by Nintendo who knew how to reach the expanded audience they were looking for (AKA those same media you assume are working under Microsoft's thumb).

You can go score cheapshots somewhere else, big boy.

With no real game announced, all MS could hope was a lot of media hype and they are getting it. So in that sense, as ridicolous as the "BAM" moment was, the Natal section of the conference was a success.

Now let's hope the games deliver...
