no thats simply not true. We just played our games without any noticable movement. Now the disc isnt working anymore.

If i would have known 360 is so sensitive, lol, then i could have done something easily.Im still trying to figure out what could have caused the scratching. there was no active, purposely done movement.

Next time i buy any disc drive, i purchase 1 m3 polysterene as well just to be on the safe side.....

That's not quite what I meant.

One question comes to my mind: how far and how fast do i have to move the console? is it enough to plug something into the usb and move the box some milimeters?

Considering how angry you are now about this (and your 360), your 360 might of been scared of you and started to shake in fear after you put the disk in, which caused it to get scrated. 

The Dreamcast slogan "It's Thinking" was actually a prelude to upcoming consoles, and how they will be able to read their owners.  I suggest you tell you 360 that you will undergo anger management, and tell it doesn't have to be scared of you.

 

Anyhow, was your system laying on its side or was it laying flat?  I am thinking on its side, if you put a disk in, there is a greater chance of scratching it.

Buy a used copy from Gamestop, swap the discs and return it as defective within seven days.

A simple bump? A jump near the console? Subwoofer? ZOMFG, I have a cramped room, hence I bumped into my PC's desk countless times, but I never scratched a CD or DVD this way, not even with the old LG CD-R/RW, noisy and vibrating more than a helicopter.

OT, about vibrations, two days ago, after having always been mostly on 737's and MD80's, I flew for the first time on a Bombardier CRJ-900 less than 3 years old and... I never thought a jet airplane could vibrate so much, my mom was so scared she almost pierced the seat with her nails , I joked all the time about mechanics getting left-over nuts and bolts after maintenance and she got even more scared, as if my sister telling her major airplane disasters often happen in series of three wasn't enough
