Forums - Sony - So what was Sony's Megaton announcement?

I'm on vacation right now so I havent been on the computer on that much, and I have only caught bits and pieces of E3. I'm not all that familar with how E3 operates either, but judging by the "So-so won E3" I'm assuming the gaming aspect of it is over, atleast announcement wise.

So what was the Megaton announcement from Sony? Was it FF14? Certainly it couldnt have been the PSP Go..... The motion control thing? I really havent seen anything that was like WHOA! Didn't see that coming. Can anyone fill me in?

it was final fantasy 14(a mmo that will go multi platform) or the new team ico game

Sony started off with a montage with Queen music

Sony won E3 with that alone

Okay but seriously... after the montage Jack came out and droped some numbers about the Ps brand and PSN ID's. UNCHARTED HAS SOLD OVER 2.6 MILLION WW WOOT! They showed Uncharted Demo LOOKED SWEET! Announced beta at midnight. Showed MAG demo announced fall release. Went to PSP Go. MGS: PW for PSP. RE for PSP. LBP for PSP. Motorstorm for PSP. Gran Turismo PSP Oct 1st. Assassins Creed PSP

They named Rockstars PS3 exclusive "Agent" They showed a FF13 trailer with english voice acting. "SE isnt stoping there" FF14 trailer "ONLINE" Jack tretton - "You can only play it on Ps3 when it launches" (Chance of timed exclusive) Showed of motion control a bit.

Demoed a sweet ass mario kart looking game. In the same genre as LBP "Play. Create. Share." very customizable drivers and tracks.

Demoed GoW. Showed Tricos new game now named "The Last Guardian" and showed a GT5 trailer.

They also showed some home stuff... FF7 now in the PSN in PSone classics

Rockstars Agent sounds promising, as the developers are taking advantage of the blu-ray disc.

The new racing game is basically Mario Kart + Little Big Planet = Modnation Racers. Honestly looks really fun but I may not buy it for $59.99.

FF14 was a real big shocker that no one knew. When the guy announced "Final Fantasy 14" the audience all thought he miscounted but when really he didn't.

God of War 3 confirmed March 2010, Heavy Rain pushed back to Q1 2010, White Knight Chronicles pushed to Q1 2010 to add more content, Gran Turismo 5 may come out this year, Final Fantasy 14 confirmed 2010 release.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 > Modern Warfare 2

psp go and the psp line up did it for me

I'm not martin luther king. I don't have a dream. I have a plan

Sell a man a fish you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish you just ruined a perfect business opportunity.

We didn't emerge out of the stone age because we ran out of stones. Its time to be proactive not reactive.

The motion controller obviously. Though there were lots of other things too. Modnation Racers was my personal favorite, but you also had FF14 Online and new team ICO game and FF7 download.

It would have been PSP go if that wasn't leaked. But besides that motion control and FF XIV (woo gang numbers ftl)

too many good things to number, and most of them were barely known or expected by the "general audience'"

*The Last Guardian
*The PSPGO and especially Gran Turismo PSP and MGS PSP (sure they were leaked out some hours before but still NO ONE new shit about those, no screens or anything and they showed BOTH GAMES RUNNING GAMEPLAY
*The motion controller took many by surprise too, and it was even more surprising they were running it REAL TIME in front of a screen on the show stage.
*FF14 of course nobody saw that coming.

Those above were the biggest to me, but also:

-Showing how HUGE and AMBITIOUS GT5 is coming was a great plus.
-Uncharted 2 stole the show. I'll go against anyone upholding that gameplay demo as simply *THE BEST* game-showing of all the conferences (and probably the whole E3).
