Forums - Sony - Is the GT5 E3 Trailer CGI?

Its replay.

What.... you all think GT5 would look like GT5p ? foolish children.

PD uses all in game assets, always have, always will.

They could've done a CGI trailer when U2, Killzone 2, etc were doing it way back in 2005, but they chose to show GT4 in HD instead. PD

the truth, no one on these forums can give you an answer because we don't know.

..that said, the "it's CGI" camp bases it's argument off of those visuals simply being "not possible". i wouldn't be so sure about that.

I don't think the parts with people are in-game though but the racing segments don't look much different than the replay mode of GT5P. I'm sure some aspects are using the engine but none of it is actual game play.

I thought the part with the planes and stuff were CGI, and the city part as well. Do you think that all the parts with cars only were in game engine (especially the part with damage)?

The part with the planes is NOT CGI for sure. If you watch the HD version(preferably in 1080P which you can download in the Japanese PS-Store) than you can clearly see that the colored smoke coming from the planes is definitely not CGI. The same goes for the buildings and people in the city, that's definitely not CGI. Probably not in-game either, i think it's realtime.

From somebody who has played GT5p to death and has the HD video of the new stuff, i can say all the racing bits look very similar to what is present in GT5p.

The only thing that would throw me off and think that it's CGI would be the fluid animations of the people.
