Forums - Sony - OMG, STOP Gran Turismo 5 Trailer

What IGN said.

Gran Turismo 5
With close to 50 million units shipped, the Gran Turismo franchise is a big deal, even outside of gaming. The fifth full title has been in production for a long, long time now, so the fact that we finally got to see the game in action was a great thing. The fact that the amazing footage was all realtime made it even more talked about.

Told you, PD doesn't do render CGI.

I know the GT4 intro had a brief CGI scene with a Ford GT, but that was it. I'm sure parts of the GT5 trailer weren't in-game (like the flags at the start for example), but the majority of it was.

This was definitely a CGI part.  In fact, it looked like the entire thing was mostly CGI with maybe a tiny bit of game-engine stuff.  The game engine stuff looked no where near as good as the CGI, though.

Personally, from what I saw of Forza 3 it looks better as of this moment.

I'll make my final judgement when I can see both games in person in 1080p.

Basicly you're claiming this is cgi and then that forza looks better ? major fail.

But i agree that this is cgi.

It's extremly simple to check if something is CGI on PS3 - if that car had ugly aliasing seen on screen it would be in game, since it's almost perfect then it's CGI. Especially if it's 1080p.

@Fila - I don't belive IGN in this case.

Not always. The footage could be captured from the replay, not the actual gameplay. Especially with the image scaled down to such small size.

The game adds AA and post processing effects on the replays. Thus you only get 30fps replays.

Example directly captured from the GT5P replay.

So, replay get´s more detail as when playing is "lower resolution but higher FPS?

PSN: franco-br
MGS4, GH, MW2, GT5p, WipeoutHD, etc..etc..

Sorry people but even Eurogamer said that Forza 3 does nott match the realism of GT5: Prologue

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

the replays do add graphical detail like extra AA though.

To be honest i would wrather have GT5 run at 30FPS and look like the replays then run at 60FPS and look how it does in-game.

That being said though the difference between the replay and in-game is almost nill unless you are too close to your screen

with 800 cars i'm gonna have to considering getting a ps3, hopefully i dont find 60 skylines. lol

Some one tell me that is CGI , please or I may have successive heart attacks and i'm only 18 !.

In terms of racers at least , this far surpases anything on any platform.
