A senior exec at nintendo, either Iwata or Miyamoto, once said that Nintendo will always do something different.

If Sony and MS both adopt motion controls, then what is Nintendo going to do? Are they going to honor their word, or make an excuse somehow.

Honestly this is no disrespect, because I would love to see the old Nintendo, I just don't see them abandoning the casualzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Are you trolling? Stop trolling.

*edit*

if you are, that is.

nah I just wanted to write casualz really long and absurdly like that.

I'm really asking what everyone thinks. It's hard to imagine Nintendo doing anything else now.

They will appeal to zombies next, duh.

I think Nintendo addressed the non-casual stuff pretty well this time around. I think they can do both. Look how much 3rd party stuff they're getting.

They'll expand the market further with more non-fiction software. The more they branch out in those directions, the more of the expanded audience they pick up, or as Iwata calls them now, the "Maybes". Microsoft and Sony can do all the motion controls they want. They don't get the strategy, they just think they can mimic it. Expect more educational software and more software to appeal to the other interests of adults and children. This will be coupled with the kind of software Iwata spoke about at the conference, which are games that are severely varied in their ability to accomodate different skill levels.

Nintendo are going to do something even greater than motion controls.

They are going to basically show MS and Sony for the unimaginitive copycats they are. I hope Nintendo does 3d HD games, creates the standard but makes dev. cheap enough to get enough people interested.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

mind control games is next for nintendo. I have said to much...
