It can have 1:1 if they wanted.

No it can't. You do realize it's pretty much impossible to recreate 1:1 motion, right? They could get really close if they can predict what kind of movements you're making, like holding a baseball bat behind your head, etc, but you can't swing wildly and expect any developer to determine where the Wiimote is.

Very true. Some people haven't realized this yet though and still hope for 1:1 swordplay, but it just can't happen.

And it shouldn't. You can't learn how to use any type of sword from one tutorial level.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Here's the other perspective from my Schizophrenic mind:

The wii is entirely dependant on the room set up. Too many other light sources, and the controller easily gets confused, and loses itself. Which obviously = bad controls. That is a fairly big, and sad issue for the Wii, and can cause severe issues, at least with motions depending on the pointer aspect.

If you or anybody else is having a problem with light sources scrambling their wiimotes, I strongly suggest you replace your incandescent bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs. They radiate far less heat and don't even show up when I go to configure my Wii's IR sensitivity.

As an added bonus, you'll save money on your power bill and fewer bulb replacements, and reduce your strain on the planet's dwindling energy supplies.

CFLs used to cast a cold, ugly blue light, but nowadays you can get ones which cast a nice warm yellow light very similar to incandescents. I'm not sure if there's really any reason for anybody to use incandescent bulbs anymore.
