Oh... and as for E3. It's simple for me. For me it's all about the reveals.
Afterall it's the one day of the year reveals are put up against each other....
Microsoft basically had motion control.
Sony had a Wiimote and an FF14.
Nintendo had a sequel to the highest rated game on the system, a new 2D mario and Metroid.
Really doesn't seem like a contest at all since FF14 is an MMORPG.
Now if it were a regular RPG... then Sony probably would of one... but then again i'd just be worried the multiplat shoe was going to drop.

I'm sorry, but another Mario doesn't win an E3. I bet you I can tell exactly what going to happen. Princess Peach gets kidnapped by Bowser, so Mario comes to her rescue. He travels to different worlds only to find she isn't there. Then he finally gets to the right place, beats Bowser and saves Peach. And he does this all by jumping on Goombas
Bringing out Project Trico aka The Last Guardian, an exclusive from Rockstar, FFXIV exclusive, GoW release date...that trumps EVERYTHING. Not to mention Resident Evil PSP, Metal Gear PSP, Gran Turismo PSP,and FFVII PSN. When people on here try to say who "won" E3 they always refer to PS3 only. But this is Sony, and with the combined announcements for both the PS3 and PSP, Sony easily won E3 this year.
A new Mario, or a new Zelda, or a new Metroid will never ever ever win this event because..it's a Nintendo console. What else do you expect? Otherwise Nintendo would permanently win E3, because they always fall back on those franchises

Yes yes, you hate Nintendo. It's all very boring already.
Sony wins for you because of a bunch of stuff we knew about already, an MMORPG that will probably come to the 360 anyway, and then a Rockstar game.
I mean... nearly every title your talking about... is a legacy title. Making your point kind of silly really. I can see disagreeing with the outcome but to suggest it isn't the case because they were legacy titles...
What is God of War 3 for example? It's a silly arguement. The point is nobody was expecting it so soon and none of it was really known for this generation since Nintendo usually goes 1 a generation with Mario Platformers.

No...I hate Nintendo *now*. Instead of giving me a new Mario...give me a new IP dammit.
And it may be that it was stuff "we knew about", but it's still better than (drumroll please) a new Mario. M$ shows us MGS: Rising and Natal...doesn't matter, Nintendo showed us another Mario. Sony showed us The Last Guardian and unveiled FFXIV and in depth gameplay footage of Uncharted 2....doesn't matter, Nintendo showed us another Mario. Do you see where this is going?
I bet at E3 2010 or 2011, Sony and Microsoft will show great stuff, and people like you will say....Nintendo showed us another Mario/Zelda/Metroid/whatever....so they win by default. I'm sorry, it doesn't work like that. And referring to "what we didn't know about"...do you think this new Mario trumps FFXIV and Rockstar's game? I mean, we didn't know about those games, and they aren't established (I wouldn't consider FF MMO "established")
