Forums - Gaming - Hang on a sec, Sony had the best conference

I like that about my threads. I never really let on if I'm joking or not. Well, at least not in the OP.

Anyways, I just think that these announcements were slightly more than the competition. 2 marios, metroid, and golden sun were just not as much. Nintendo did win if you do not factor in the PSP stuff, but I think the PSP slightly edges it out. It convinced me to buy a PSPGo, now that I know I will be able to play every single game on the PSP, and I have a brand new MGS and ResEvil, and it's in white!

I'll forgive you because I know you are angry.

From the Sony Conference: "You'll have to forgive him, he's from Australia."

Nintendo won because Sony and Microsoft showed their motion controllers/cameras. By that they admitted that this (motion controlled games) is the next step for gaming and that the current PS3 and 360 aren't competitive enough in the marketplace. Unfortunately they didn't have any games to show for it. Meanwhile Nintendo not only has two and a half years of already existing games for their platform, their new technology Wii Motion Plus is going to be released next week with Wii Sports Resort following next month which should increase their already existing huge advantage in motion controlled games even more.

Sony and Microsoft are so far behind a trend that started three years ago that they will never catch up during this generation. I don't even know how someone could argue that Sony or Microsoft somehow won this E3 unless several qualifiers are set in place to marginalize what Nintendo has done over the past few years.

Yes, you can always say that one company had the best announcements because they cater the most to your preferences, but when it comes to the big picture, the future of this industry, then it's definitely Nintendo who gained the most at this year's E3. In previous years we saw two clearly different approaches between the Wii and the HD consoles. Now Nintendo is moving further in the direction they went all along while Sony and Microsoft are following.

How did you figure that they admitted motion control is the next step? Wii is simply getting a lot of money and marketshare from expanded audience gamers. Sony and MS want a piece of that, just as Nintendo wants a piece of HD revenue. Just focusing on the logic itself, these toys aren't even standards, but additions which shows that neither Sony nor MS want to leave the normal gaming environment.

In your second paragraph you are saying that Sony and MS lost this conference 3 years ago? Those announcements about motion control are probably, what I consider at least, to be the least of their announcements this E3.

And in paragraph 3 you become Malstrom. I've told you this hundreds of times before Rol. Nobody cares about games, they care about the industry and who will make the most money.

If they show Versus XIII they win it all in spades.

@Onyx, yeah but I couldn't say anything about "The Last Guardian" because we've seen it before. You really need to go over "The Rules of Fanboy Arguments".
Because that is one of them.

@Selnor
while it may be the biggest innovation in years, I don't see how it will translate to gameplay. If it works, I will buy one, but I don't see myself as any of those people in the ad they showed, except maybe that little boy pretending to be a giant monster.

What the fuck are the rules of fanboy arguments and why would I care about them? I'm sorry, no offense of course, but if this is some childish nonsense, I question why you're following it at all.

I repeat, Sony won because of The Last Guardian. If that didn't happen, or if I can't count that because of the imaginary rules, then I suppose Microsoft looked better because of Shadow Complex and Splinter Cell.

I don't agree because, obviously, I have different tastes in gaming. RPGs, action adventure and platformers interest me. Ninty "won" for me.

Oh and FF14 comes out on PC as well.

@lolita

in terms of impact, it will be better for PS3

especially in Japan, it give the platform an image, a FF console image which is important.

I agree it is nonsense, hence why I phrased it as such. However, it is imperative that you do not put anything debatable in a theory otherwise you are going to have assholes saying "Trico is old, we've seen it before, and without that your list is garbage" and subsequently derailing the thread. So I just included things that were freshly announced. You'll notice that even though I put "Official Announcement" next to PSPGo and something else, a user commented that it was confirmed on Qore. It just takes away from the strength of the argument when you allow someone to twist something however they want. Nonsense exactly.

The only problem is you have to buy the eye toy AND the glow stick.
And what more does it do then WM+
Natal was awesome but I doubt anything will come of it.

Nintendo won because it just continued on what it was doing and releasing new games.

I never really know if your threads are serious or not. They are often ridiculous and I think you are joking but then it turns out that you actually seem to believe what you wrote.

You are a weird person, so much is clear. Especially since you sent me that porn stuff last weekend.

Yeah... that's about what I was going to say minus the porn thing.

@rol

And I think you are putting too much focus on who the industry leader is because you were disappointed with the games at N's conference.

I don't know. Maybe your taste in games is vastly different from mine, which doesn't seem to make sense because I've seen your games list. For someone interested in games like I am, Nintendo did not win. For someone interested in something like you claim to be interested in, then yes Nintendo did win. But, I don't care which company makes the most money, not by a long shot. That's why I loved then Dreamcast, the Gamecube, the Genesis, and N64.

PS:ALthough I do love the DS too, and will be getting Golden Sun.
