So I have Halo 3 regular edition, and I have a reserved copy of legendary at Game Stop.

is legendary worth it? What is the availibility on it? Is it rare? Or is it just stupid?

Unless you want to find a overpriced resold copy of Legendary on Craigslist or Ebay....It's not going to happen.

 Someone should tell Amazon.com then, at the time I posted this, they still have them in stock. So did EBgames.com, Walmart.com, and Target.com is out of stock of the regular edition, but still has Legendary in stock. Plenty on eBay as well, and they don't fetch much over retail (before bloated shipping) all though a lot of those are annoying pre-order sales, but still.

I'd just get yourself the limited edition. You'll have some nice extras, and more importantly $60 leftover to buy another 360 game.

You should get it. The four main gamestores in my area only got one legendary between them

Well, your answer is on Ebay this morning. There really aren't any sales happening above retail. One did yesterday, but Even at $150 there is a lot of "fail" happening on Ebay. I suspect they probably shipped upward of 250K copies of legendary. Gamestop has a 48 hour policy if you only reserved and didn't pay in full. If you really need one, it looks like you can get one on Ebay at or below full sticker price. If you don't want to ebay, go to your local gamestops on Wednesday about 30 minutes before close and ask if they have any Legendary's that were not picked up. If the manager is cool, he/she may just say "hang out until close and I'll sell you one of the ones that weren't picked up". If they won't, ask if you can come back at open and pick it up...

I got two bioshock limited editions that way and sold them both on Ebay for a $50 profit to people who I guess couldn't wait or didn't want to bother... BUT it appears that the rush to make a profit isn't going to happen on H3:Legendary...

Alright so we are split, but I am leaning towards the NOT buying it but still, hard choice! And are there any benefits of owning the legendary edition?

If you are a collector, you might like the little helmet. I intentionally live in a smaller home to cut down on costs, cleaning, maintenance, etc. and the last thing I need is a bunch of "trophies" laying around... YMMV but unless you are a huge halo fan and you want to look at that little helmet for years to come, I'd say skip it. You will probably be able to buy one cheap in the coming months from Ebay if you really want one...

I'm interested in Halo the game. Maybe a T-shirt. Nothing more...
