As far as adoption goes, Microsoft is definately going to have the hardest time since.
A) There hardware is going to be considerably more expensive than the other two devices.
B) They have no customer base to support the new peripheral; every person that buys it must by the whole set up for what ever price it ends up being. Both Sony and Nintendo have customers that already have a key component to the devices use (Eye toys and Wii Remotes)
C) No tactile input or buttons. How many Wii reviews have we seen where the reviewers are bitching about not having very accurate movements mapped to the wii remote. Now imagine a device that has no tactile feel and no buttons for accuracy...
D) There just are not that many casual gamers left who haven't bought a wii already.
I agree MS set up is impressive but it just isn't cost effective or practicle at this point. Maybe next gen. But by then Nintendo will have something similar ready with software support.
