Forums - Gaming - Sony`s holiday 2009 lineup is...only Uncharted 2 ?

How can you be so sure that Agent is a ps3 exclusive? All that was announced was the title and a little info about the game. It still has along way to come...enough time for Rock* and MS to make a deal to bring the game to the 360 as well.

Anyway, Sony's exclusive holiday lineup has pretty much disintegrated...Heavy Rain, God of War 3, and WKC all for Q1 2010 now.

This is why

the game is from a deal they struck nearly 2 years ago

Also, the PS3 still has Uncharted 2, R&C, MAG, NG2:Sigma, Last Rebellion and Demon's Soul this Fall/Winter. They're also pushing hard to get GT5 out for a Holiday release.

its not about the quantity of the games but the quality. if uncharted 1 and R&C tools of destruction are any indicator of how good the sequels will be then its going to be a good xmas for the ps3. i can already imagine spendind endless hours playing video games with all the good games

it's highly unlikely because

1. They only showed a trailer and the game is not even playable at E3 this year.

2. Since GT PSP has a target release date set at 10/01/2009, it would be more likely for them to ensure GT PSP to hit that deadline before they can put their effort back in GT5.

I would say right now Uncharted 2 and new R&C game are the big guns for PS3 holiday this year. MAG is still an unknown.

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

PLAYSTATION®3 is the future.....NOW.......B_E_L_I_E_V_E

Why does everyone think MAG is coming out in 2009? According to Wikipedia, the official release is Quarter 3, 2009, which is, like, now, or at least in the next 3 months. And I haven't heard anything MAG related from E3. You would think that if a major first party shooter was due out in the next 6 months, they'd have at least mentioned it in the press conference.

Wii has more 20 million sellers than PS3 has 5 million sellers.

Acolyte of Disruption

They did mention it during the press conference. As the Zipper guys walked off the stage, Tretton said the game is "hitting this Fall."

word of advice: watch press conference/inform yourself better before making yourself look totally ridiculous in a forum.

ot: E3 is not esentially about annoucing X-mas lineups... They have White Knight Chronicles this year, as well as Demons' Souls and other new games for PS3 like Tales of Vesperia, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Uncharted 2...MAG is coming before the holiday, of course. I don't think we're close to X-mas yet, are we? why don't we wait at least for the summer to (start) and end before talking about X-mas exclusives?

For me: Uncharted 2 > every MS exclusive announce at E3. Maybe that's just me, that's my taste and that will keep me busy and entertained for quite a while, I don't care for FPS (I don't care for MAG, L4D 2, or Halos) and Forza 3 looks nice, but I know I'll be getting the best there will be and I'm not in much of a hurry for petty racing games. I may give Dirt 2 a try if it's out this year, though, but nothing I'm looking forward too. Now GT5, that's like the Final Fantasy of Racing games to me.

I just checked a couple of media blogs of the Sony event. No one mentioned that Sony said MAG is coming this year, well at least that I could find.

It was announced as "Fall 2009" right after the gameplay demonstration during the Sony presentation.

Past that: Uncharted 2, Ratchet & Clank Future, WKC, and Demon's Souls (-and FFXIII in Japan, assuming it makes it).
Taken in with the first half of the year, Killzone 2 and inFamous, it's a very solid 2009 line-up.

Even with that said, expect the PS3 Slim to be formally announced around September/October, and to release around that same time-frame. It's actually a smart strategy, letting the hardware revision boost sales for this holiday season and releasing the bigger franchises (GoW3, GT5) throughout 2010 to hold the momentum.

EDIT: Didn't realize how big this thread was. To add to the above, keep in mind Sony seems to be going all-out on the PSP this holiday, so the delays on God of War, Heavy Rain, and Gran Turismo make sense - and let's be honest, they were all expected.
I'll also take this edit opportunity to mention (again) that quality is not vindictive of sales. I could care less how well Uncharted 2 sells, I just know it's going to be an absolutely amazing experience.
