Forums - Gaming - MGS:R "lightning bolt action"

This is my first post ever on this site, i usualy come here just to read and look at stuff, but finnaly decided to make an account, i am a pretty big gamer, owned many and still own many councils....

back on topic, the title sais it all, i'm a big fan of MGS serious BUT unlike all the MGS's before hand witch allways had "tactical espionage action" written on it this one has "lightning bolt action" so my take on this is i'm thinking this game could be like a devil may cry game or if many of you played MGS3 you have probably played a little minigame after you fall asleep in a cell... For some reason this game really gets me off just becasue of the name "lightning bold action" i can not see how a MGS game can go this way after all, originaly this game was a stealth/action/tps/slow and fast game, it just mattered how you wanted to play...

anyone else notice this and is not as hyped for this game? i want a good MGS game, not some devil may cry with the lead character as raiden... (this is my opinion on how the game could turn out, hopefully i will get a big surprise and it will turn out good)

whats your take on this???

Well it's cyborg raiden so i doubt it'll be much about stealth. Regardless it still has me excited.

Check out my game about moles ^

Remember that he is an experienced tracker as well. I can see it having long action sequences, but I doubt that stealth will be taken out altogether.

Kind of off topic but its cool to see everybody embrace raiden, if you remember people used to hate this character. My how times have changed, guess im getting old!

I liked Raiden in MGS2. I was a little let down by his emotionless, high healed, sword in mouth version from MGS4. What gives me hope that this game isn't going to be a mindless hack and slash game like Devil May Cry or God of War is that this game is being brought to us by Kojima. He's a leader, and not a follower. Whichever path the game takes is going to be innovative and fun. I remember not being excited AT ALL when Metal Gear Solid 3 was shown. In the end, it was my favorite game of all time.

We probably have years of trailers and hype before the game actually releases. In the meantime, I'm just glad it's coming.......and that Solid Snake's story has finally ended. The guy deserved a break.
