I have never played a Splinter Cell sadly.

Me either. But it looks so good. I might get one of them to try out before I fork over 60 bucks for the game...or is this game that much different from the rest that I don't need t do that?

It actually seems pretty similiar to past games, just with new moves in it. I would recommend Chaos Theory. It's like $6 at Gamestop and is a fantastic game. Graphically you will at times wonder how it isn't a current generation title. The lightning is utterly amazing for a last gen game.

I'll try to make my way up to gamestop over the next few days to check it out. It's out on the xbox or ps2?

Both.  Although you will want the XBox version (it's compatible with the XBox360).  It's superior.  The PS2 version doesn't look as good, and some levels/areas are redesigned because of the PS2's limited memory (going by reviews, I played the PC version).

The rule of buying Splinter Cells for a console is always go for the Xbox version. It has outperformed all other console versions every single time. This might play into why it's not on PS3 this time around.

I am digging the new concept. I wasn't that huge of a fan of it before. Now it looks just like my type of game a good mix of stealth and action together instead of being way to heavy on the stealth. I do hope multiplayer has a concept similar to that of Double Agent though I loved the whole spy vs merc mode.

How our favorite systems are just like humans and sometimes have issues finding their special someone...

Xbox 360 wants to KinectPS3 wants to Move!  Why are both systems having such relationship problems?  The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.

Its what Splinter Cell should be, can't believe I'll be playing this beats in a few months!!

It's looking a ton more promising than the last time they showed it. Splinter Cell Chaos Theory and Splinter Cell 1 were in my top 10 games of last gen. SC: Pandora Tomorrow was alright (the online was awesome) and Double Agent nearly killed the series for me. I just did not like it at all. When they showed the old emo style Conviction in 2007 I had all but lost interest. This definitely put it near the top of my games radar again.

The in game story-telling stuff was really well done and while I'm not a fan of the queue-ing of attacks, I can see how it would work in a game like this. It's there, but I don't plan on using it. Some of the animations (specifically when he's hanging from the ledge on the side of the building and going by all the windows) looked too robotic but overall the game looks brilliant. Sam Fischer's model was very very detailed I found. To answer your OP: Tons of people (including myself) are very very excited! ^_^

This looks great, I just watched the demo. Can't wait to play it.
