Forums - Microsoft - So, just the one game, or the "franchise"?

Oh man, funniest E3 yet, and its only day 1!  Im still surprised at how many people on this site were flat out shocked to hear the multiplat announcement.  Despite all the rumours, the predictions across various gaming sites, people are still devastated.  People obviously hold this series in high regard.

OT: I think it will depend upon the sales of MGS:R on the 360.  If it sells well (which it may not), then there will be strong  pressure on Konami to port MGS4 to 360.  As for future titles, I would expect some sort of timed exclusivity deal with Sony, but maybe not.

Once again, freaking hilarious.

Metal Gear Solid 4 was the 10 out of 10 and the culmination of MGS. This MG Rising is just a game that Hideo shouldn't be making when instead he should be furthering his legacy by creating the third game in the Snatcher and Policenauts series.

Hideo looked very nervous the whole time he was up there with the Microsoft guys and when one of them mentioned the further adventures of Solid Snake he said, "I didn't say anything about Solid Snake."

Sorry sir, but that post completely lacks any sort of reasoning. It just sounds like anti 360 talking points. Could you explain the whole thing for me line by line. How is MGS4 better than MGS1, and also why shouldn't Kojima be making a MGS game. Finally, what does your last sentence have to do with anything.

IGN and Play both gave MGS 4 10 out of 10.  IGN only gave MGS 1 a 9.8 out of 10.  I don't think IGN would have given MGS 4 a 10 unless they considered it to be better than MGS 1.  True Kojima fans have been hoping he would get this Metal Gear Solid thing out of his system and get back to work on the sequel to his true masterpieces Snatcher and Policenauts probably since MGS 2 released in 2000.  He said himself that MGS 4 was the last one and then he was going to get back to work on his special project which was hopefully his sequel to his cyberpunk masterpieces (and would include a rerelease of Snatcher and the first release of Policenauts in the US).  Well, you're asking if this game being on 360 means we'll see all the Metal Gear games on 360, Kojima's statement although indicative of the fact that Solid Snake isn't in Rising also points to the fact that Kojima hasn't mentioned anything about bringing any of the earlier MGS games to the 360.  Granted it would probably be easy enough to port the first three to xbla, 2 was on Original xbox, and the only ones that haven't been released on an xbox are 3 and 4.
