Forums - Microsoft - The Pros and Cons of the Microsoft 2009 E3 Conference

Yea, I know there are two zillion other threads about the conference right now, but it deserves another one.....right? After watching the conference here are my pro's and con's of the conference.

PROS

- The Modern Warfare 2 gameplay was simply amazing. It was all quite normal until the action started, and once the action started it was insane

- The Left 4 Dead 2 trailer was hot, and seriously cool. 'If we run out of bullets, we'l make 'em wish we had them'

- Splinter Cell Conviction again looks fantastic, Im sure it has alot more followers now than what it did.

- Alan Wake looked tense and dramatic. Very like Resident Evil 5 which can be a good or bad thing

- Yea, MGS on the 360. Smart move Microsoft, probably the most talked about element of the conference

- Forza 3 looks to eclipse all racing games (bar Gran Turismo 5) by quite a distance. With beautiful graphics and amazing customization options you can tell it's gona be a hit

- Crackdown 2, need I say more?

- 2 new Halo games announced, you can't go wrong with announcing Halo

- The NATAL project has alot of potential

- Others : The partnerships with Sky, the music station, Facebook and Twitter make the 360 a main living room feature

CONS

- No Rare/Lionhead game

- Alan Wake still a year away, didn't look graphically spectacular to me. With a year left it will end up looking amazing but right now it's not really anything special visually (my opinion)

- That Guild girl tried to be funny and failed. She also said 'and thats cool' way too much

- Seriously, a Beattles Rock band game is not worth 10 minutes of an E3 conference

- No Master Chief in ODST

- NATAL looks to be limited to a select group of games

- Don Mattrick kept boasting way too much, and clapped himself far too much

- Milo, what can I say. This is the saddest thing Ive ever seen. The technology behind it was fantastic, yes....but I mean this is a losers dream. You should go outside, talk to real people, have a social life. This is promoting talking to a virtual character through a screen

So, whats yours?

Around the Network

Don Mattrick clapping for himself and going "whoohoo! yeaaah!"

Stop trying to be cool. Your a corporate douche who doesnt even know about the big games coming to his system.

(calling MGS "Metal Gill Solid" and then saying "I cant wait to see Solid Snake on 360!!!" when Raiden is the main character, not Snake)

"I don't have time to play video games anymore, but if I did, I would definitely choose the PlayStation 3 instead of the 360" - President Barack Obama

Cons

Still not any new exclusives that we didnt know about before....

Halo, Alan Wake, Forza...we already knew about those coming. L4D2 is a decent announcement but will obviously just be L4D1.5 (how much could they have improved/changed in only a year of development)..and Crackdown only had a trailer so you know it's far from being released.

Completely agree with this.  and can't believe L4D2 is not Multi-Platform.  I really want to play either the first or 2nd one.

Seeing what Valve thinks of the PS3, it's not really that surprising. Not that I care though, as long as I can play it on the PC.

lol my laptop can barely play you tube videos, so L4D is out of question.  That's why I was hoping it would come on PS3.  But, hopefully microsoft would announce a price cut this holiday season and then I can get it.

Only Sony fanboys here, no surprises.

But in fact, I agree with SOME "cons".

Milo is going to be my new best friend. Why interact with real people?

E3 is not over. Rare will announce several things. Pretty sure of it.

- Come on....remember that Sony guy that said a $600 PS3 was so cheap that ANYONE could and would buy it? I'm sure you do....
