Because it is a trilogy, and the first game is on the 360. To do a second game doesn't make a lot of sense, and it doesn't make financial sense to port the original to the PS3. What would make sense is when Mass Effect 3 is announced, the PS3 gets the trilogy. What you have in Mass Effect 2, is the ability to use the original Mass Effect saves. They are connected.
Metal Gear Solid Rising is a new game, that starts a new story arch with Raiden, and doesn't have Solid Snake.

C'mon are your trying to say that anybody who wants to play MassEffect 2 has to play the original also?
Like the game won't work without the Mass Effect 1 saves?

The game was intended as a trilogy. The game was meant to allow you to continue what you had in the original over to the next game. It doesn't make sense to jump in NOW for Mass Effect. What I was also saying, IF they are going to jump in, release the game as a complete trilogy on the PS3, with all three games on one Blu-Ray disk. This way, you start with the first, and play through all three games.
Also, as of now, it doesn't make financial sense to port it to the PS3. Flat out, if you want to play Mass Effect, buy a 360 (or a PC).
