Forums - Gaming - MS- Best Conference Ever Seen at E3?

It was decent. No megaton like last year, but still far better. Halo reach and LFD2 was pretty awesome, natal not so much...

No megaton? Metal gear Solid Franchise going to 360 i would say was pretty big. That marks the end of a fully exclusive Sony deal which marks the end of pretty much all of Sony's old guard exclusive 3rd party franchises. Meaning if they announce MGS5 for PS3 there is a lot higher chance it will also be for 360 then MGS4. The fact Kojima walked onto a Microsoft conference set is a megaton.

Too early to say here, but the other things overshadowed Spielberg and two of the original Beatles.

The level of consistent quality in the conference would make it number 1 for me.

Kojima was a megaton (Given the resistance to even just the IDEA of Kojima appearing at MS E3, let alone a new Metal Gear Solid game).

That Milo tech demo was astounding. Let's not think about games and think about pure tech, that was brilliant. Surprised to see it at E3, looked more like a CES thing to me (especially given that much like the Wii mote, it'll excel at certain genre's and be complete failures in others).

If you thought MS conference was not outstanding, you're clearly a Sony fanboy. They showed everything they needed to show (ODST, Wake release date, Conviction release date, new halo, Forza 3, Crackdown 2), those alone would have made a good conference, but they went above and beyond that. Acknowledge the hardwork and greatness of the conference, and hope that Sony will be better.

I really hope Sony pulls a big showing. I would say nearly all the wind generated by KZ2, Infamous and all these pre-E3 announcements might be taken out of their sails by the end of the week if their E3 isn't as big. Sony, no one cares about interpretations of sales numbers, we care about games. Bring It.

Announcing a multiplatform game from the start isn't a megaton. It's a big announcement nonetheless.

Metal Gear Solid Rising is very likely what we will know as MGS5 from this point.  It is the next Metal Gear on home consoles.

we'll have to wait and see.

Again i don't think you quite grasp the point of what i was saying. MGS2 as mentioned above was on xbox.

But that was then and this is now. The landscape is very different. Sony has one 3rd party franchise remaining exclusive before today. If someone said before the show started that Kojima would walk onto the Microsoft conference stage and say "The Metal gear Franchise is coming to 360", people would laugh. If you then said Kojima would then go on to say "the next metal gear, Metal gear Rising will be on 360" then they would think your insane.

The megaton is that the Metal gear Solid Franchise has now gone multi-platform. That is like the guy who makes Halo walking onto the Sony conference saying Halo ODT will be on PS3. That will not happen. But the point is now that all those old franchises Sony had have all gone multi-platform.

Well, I think it will be hard to follow that act. Hopefully Sony can pull off some amazing stuff, otherwise, they are just amassing their fail. We all know no matter what Wii does, it will still get more sales than any other console. I was amazed by Natal, simply amazing. I am excited to see Halo's story line expand, and the chance to shoot more aliens makes me happy too. Forza 3, well, GT5 has some serious competition there.
