Pixar - no contest, though Dreamworks is actually getting better.
We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke
It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...." Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson
Obviously Pixar. I don't think DreamWorks is a match for them. I did really like Kung Fu Panda though...
I could never choose between Pixar and Ghibli. They are both amazing but very different imo. I just recently watched My Neighbour Totoro by the way. What a cute little movie. I immediately went out and bought my own little plush Totoro. It's that good!
Dreamworks are slowly upping their game but are way behind Pixar in every respect. Dreamworks just announced that they will begin pumping out 5 animated movies every year and that will only dilute their output unless at least one of those movies has some depth. Yes, their movies look great but they need to start working on the layers underneath.
Studio Ghibli>Pixar
Playing: Borderlands(great co-op,HUGE amount of content),Too Human(better late than never lol),Saints Row 3(Penetrator ftw),Minecraft 360,Harry Potter Lego.
Patiently waiting for: Tomb Raider, Borderlands 2
| Beoulve said: Pixar is my favorite by far. I like Dreamworks as well, but they can't compete against classics like Toy Story, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Ratatouille and Wall-E. |
This. I like Shrek and Ice Age but Pixar owns! :3
Pixar's worst movie is Cars, which is still better than the vast majority of Dreamworks movies. That should tell you something.
Despite not enjoying Wall-E, Pixar for their deeper meanings within movies.
The question itself is insulting. Pixar, by itself, is one of the finest movie studios in the world (including live action and every aspect of filmmaking).
Dreamworks, not so much.

Pixar has it all over Dreamworks... and tops Ghibli imo (Mononoke is terribly overrated, and the gigantic scrota put me off Pom Poko every time). But Disney 2d? If Pixar can keep it up for a few more decades, sure, but till then, Disney reigns supreme.
