Forums - Microsoft - New Lips Game looks good!

This was probably one of the greatest surprises of 2008 for me, and I've spent about $200 on this game, with all the DLC I've bought, but my wife loves it, and  we usually break out the Lips when we have parties at the house.  So, I'm very excited about this, and hopefully, they can integrate Avatars into the game, and more modes like the one added in the most recent major patch

  • Microsoft has revealed the second iteration of their Xbox 360 karaoke franchise Lips, with Coldplay's "Viva La Vida" accompanying the official announcement of Lips: Number One Hits.

Perhaps the Lips: Uno listing on the Royalty Network was merely a code name for Lips: Number One Hits, the second installment of the singing game, due in October. The official announcement makes the game sound less like a full sequel and more like an expansion pack, forgoing mention of any new features in favor of hyping up their song list, which consists solely of tracks that have reached the number one position on major global charts. Songs like "Viva La Vida", MC Hammer's "U Can't Touch This", Culture Club's "Karma Chameleon", and Tokio Hotel's "Ready, Set, Go!"

From the initial track listing (see below) it seems like a rather attractive release, but still more of an add-on pack than a full-fledged follow up. We should learn more at E3, where this game should have been announced in the first place.

Announced tracks for Lips: Number One Hits

• "Viva La Vida" by Coldplay
• "Disturbia" by Rihanna
• "U Can't Touch This," by MC Hammer
• "More Than Words," by Extreme
• "Apologize" by Timbaland featuring OneRepublic
• "Karma Chameleon" by Culture Club
• "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" by Marvin Gaye
• "Oh, Pretty Woman" by Roy Orbison
• "Ready, Set, Go!" by Tokio Hotel

Sorry if this has already been posted, but I’ve yet to figure out the new search function on VGC 2.0!

Hopefully since they have announced it already, they won't waste any of their briefing time on it.

I'm in. Where do I sign up? I've gotten a lot of use from it. I picked up the Karaoke Idol game too and that one SUCKS so hard by comparison.

Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?

Lips is a very fun party game, and the women love it.

so this isn't one of the games that microsoft has in store for e3.

Around the Network

I wonder if it's an expansion or a new sequel w/ avatar support

Microsoft has made a few announcements now... Lips Number One Hits, Zune HD, Sky TV... Then Rockstar with GTA IV DLC: Gay Tony...

They must have a lot to announce... Otherwise, they are giving away the bank early.

I too hope MS won't spend a lot of time talking about this game at E3.

^^^ Of course, I tend to disagree...since I'm not sure why M$ can use a balance approach to their E3 presentation.

AThe song list is good so far. I hope this is a sequel but I also hope they add new modes and features Lips feels a little empty in the features department when compared to Singstar.

Xbox 360 wants to KinectPS3 wants to Move!  Why are both systems having such relationship problems?  The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.
