Been playing this game nonstop since I got it on Tuesday.
Already finished the first island and I'm about 70% through the second island.
Just played some more tonight. It is pretty fun... I like the "taking back the city" aspect. Still, it could have done more to sepatate itself from being a knock off of the Spider-Man games, and to fix the bugs (one in every five bad guys I kill sticks in the scenery and has a seizure).

Coming from "TheSteve" this is actually a raving review. Now you all know tha inFamous is the shit.

Nope. Infamous is just really good. I actually enjoyed Oblivion more then Fallout 3. And I can even admit that Mass Effect is a little better then inFamous.. But not by much. It's up there with the best this gen. I judge games after I have actually played them. Not just hype or Metacritic reviews score which has been horribly skewed by haterfanboy.net. |
lol, oh come on, man. I own and have played all those games as well... inFAMOUS is a fun take on the Spider-Man: Web of Shadows idea with a generic hero and city, but it's nothing special. Even if RPGs aren't your thing, you would have to be pretty biased to not count those AAA titles as superior to this derivitive but entertaining distraction. I'm enjoying it, but it's NOT a "great" game. It's not even the best game I've bought this month.

My PS3 has died. It froze 4 times in inFamous and now the system won't start up 90% of the time and when it does it gos crazy in 3 min or less. Tried to save my save file in one of those under 3 min moments but it was no good. I was hoping to not have to restart the game until I finished it on good. Now it seems I'll have to start again. I agree though I love this game. Wouldn't be on here if I could still be playing it but I guess I'll have to wait after forking over $162
still can't decide between this and re5 i can only get one right now and can't decide :(

The game's pretty buggy, even for a sandbox game (they tend to glitch out a lot), I got stuck to a car that was passing by earlier, and had to quit the game and restart, and an enemy that fell off the roof started breackdancing in some scaffolding and turned me into a blue light frame. Reminds me of GTAIII.

Reasonable response right out of the gate... kudos.
Advice: try the demo of both. I didn't like RE5 at first, but the co-op hooked me. inFAMOUS had me pumped, and I've cooled to it a bit. You really need to try them and see what grabs you.

@axumblade: Is that Cole in your av, or Galen from The Force Unleashed? inFAMOUS reminds me of a mash-up of TFU and Web of Shadows.
