Akvod: I'm sorry, but I'm never going to equate war with terrorist attacks.  I knew 23 people that died on 9/11.  Context is everything, I suppose.

LOL. Now that's inappropriate.

You refered to those people as people you knew, erasing the difference between those you actually spoke to and those who you only saw, but still were precise enough to stipulate they weren't 21, nor 22, but 23 of them.

What a douche.

Dude................ Listen to yourself. We understand that you hate America. However, what you are saying is over the fuckin top, calm the fuck down.

Derek is supposedly respectful of the 9/11 tragedy. Yet he refers to his personal loss during that same tragedy with an obscene precision and an equally obscene blur where convenient.

And to crown the irony i now hate america ?

LOL

Anyone who equates a war (specifically WWII) to a terrorist attack is a moron. I'm sorry, but read a book or watch the History channel and learn something, PLEASE.

In what aspect? They both involve tragedy, the taking of lives (both soldiers and civilians). The only difference I see is "legitimacy" (an official war vs. a terrorist attack), the scale and quantity (a life taken is a life taken though), and such...

Honestly, besides people getting killed, I don't see how they are similar.

War = typically soldiers vs. soldiers, and the fighting is typically "justified" from all sides

Terrorism = civilians or soldiers vs. "innocent" civilians - there is typically no "fighting," and it is not seen as "justified" from all sides

I hope you are aware that WW II has seen acts of planned methodical mass genocide (by Germany, Japan and Soviet Union) on a scale that makes 11th september a child's play. And almost all of those were against civilians.

So how many games have you played based on the Holocoust or other war crimes? None?

The way you talk just sounds jaded.

I would like to play as a jew surviving in a Konzentrationslager trying to survive or escape.

That is an awesome concept my friend, nomatter how controversial it may be.

Then after you sucessfully escape, you need make it to neutral territory.

GREAT idea. I'm thinking different endings depending on how many Jew Tokens you collect.

Bad ending: Escape fails and you watch your family get shot first, then you.

Medium ending: Get 5 paces outside camp and get machine-gunned down by Nazi guards

Good ending: Get 5 paces outside camp and get machine-gunned down by Nazi guards, but you get one glimpse of an approaching British squadron representing hope for your fellow inmates.

(Joking. A lot.)

Should i be ashamed because i LOL'd when I read this?

Anyway i think that could actually work as a game.

OT: Yes if it was excellent game, no if it were bad.

There already was game where you were escaping from German camp and failure=dead. Altrough it was 4 english pilots running away from war prisoners camp. I played it on Amiga just can't remember title. Then again corporate decidents would wet their pants even thinking about such idea for game today.

On Topic - sure if it were good game. I already played Panzer General where two first missions were invasion in Poland.

Now big question would be how you make interesting game on 11.09 - IMHO rpg where you are US agent working to prevent terrorist attack and finding clues leading to incoming plane atack could be interesting.

Or it could be a survival game, not only during the initial buildings falling, but the few days of helping people and removing debree.

For what it's worth, it took months to remove the debris. And, only a handful of people were pulled out alive, none past 9/12.  So, I'm not sure that enough is there to make a game out of it.

They can take liberties with the stories, and use only the first few days when everyday Joes and firemen/policemen pariticipated in the exacavation and the heroic stories occured. You can help reunite a child with his dad, dig up someone (yes, unrealistic, but again artistic liberty), put out fires, etc. If you're to have objection with fictionalizations or the taking of liberties with a real world event, you're going to be an extremely offended person with the shear ammount of popular historical fiction.

Sure. Same as playing any other war game really. Though, I'm sure it would be all stereotypical and many would find it offensive, on both sides of the fence.

You're from France.

No punchline needed.

Are you trying to demonstrate how inconsiderate you are ? Not that you hadn't already...

The funnest thing about games is destruction. I'll admit in Mercenaries 2, I used missiles to blow up buildings. It was fun. Does that make me a terrorist? =(

yes, but The game would probably suck, the story from that article would be terrible.
