Forums - General - Britain's got Talent 2009....

I was watching britains got talent 2009 semi-final last night.  3 Acts stood out (only 2 can go though to the final) Flawless, Gareth Oliver and Shaun smith (alll really good).

Flawless won the public vote, Gareth Oliver and Shaun Smith were runners up and it was up to the judges to decide which one of these two went though.  Simon didn't even think about and choose Shaun Smith with no explanation on why he chose Shaun.   Piers chose Gareth Oliver stating that this is a talent show and not just a singing show and Amanda choose Shaun saying he was the best choice of winning the show.

We don't know how many people voted for Shaun or Gareth, but I think Britains got Talent is a show for everyone with allsorts of talent and not just singers, I also though to myself Gereth and his puplet were really funny and that thats what the shows about (and should of got though).

And with simon just choosing Shaun right away means to me that it's a kind of fix and I think simon secertly wants Shaun to get though and win.  I think that the judges shouldn't have any voting power veto when it comes to public voting.  All we know Gareth may have come second by or big margin (or maybe not).

P.S.  Flawless were really good by the way... and deserved to go though.

I thought it was very good. Dont want Susan Boyle to win :/

I'm hoping after I saw the announcement of who would be in the semi-finals, it would get better luckily it has to an extent.

I mean, why out of the 200 successful people did they ever think a Burlesque Dancer, a bloke who thinks he sounds like a saxophone and that drag act are good compared to some of the people rejected? That makes me think the show is just a joke. Luckily the public are putting the correct people through.

Well, except Shaun, he should have been on X-Factor, not this.

Hmm, pie.

Yeah, Shaun Smith should be in X-factor instead and im sure he would go all the way, but for people like Susan Boyle X-factor wouldn't be for her really.  But back to your point is that alot of good acts didn't get though for some reason, why on earth did that guy who does drag act get to the semi-final.  To me a striper and a drag act isn't what this show needs.

Darth Jacksons first appearance, he was waving his lightsaber about dressed as darth vader and the judges though as everyone else did 'some guys moving around in a darth vader outfit'.  He got two buzzers and the crowd was booing him off until he got into his micheal jackson routie and bingo something new.   Just proves that you must impress the judges within like the first 10 seconds.
