Forums - Microsoft - Major Nelson promising MEGATONZ!

DirtyP2002 indeed those things will never happen so there is no point in even imagining the megaTONZ. If it happened it would be a megaton due to the size of the company purchased but that is never going to happen..........NEVER.

I can't help but think Nelson is on about the motion camera and I will laugh at the meltdowns when none of the conferences have anything huge announced. I'm watching E3 for the MEGADOWNS (:/) rather then anything huge being announced. He had also made it very apparent that Crackdown 2 is going to be shown which is nothing but meh for me so Forza 3 and Halo ODST please.

Anyway E3 will be interesting because all three conferences have been hyped through the roof to the point that all will be failures. I do however think the big news from all 3 will be hardware related no software.

I can see it now; 30 minutes of the motion camera demonstration on stage and games for it announced. Watched all three conferences last year with Sony's just being boring, Nintendo's being wonderfully funny and the same going for MS. Th part where the old farts were sitting on a sofa playing 'your in the movies' followed by Duffy not being able to sing her own song.....cringeworthy.

So, no fun allowed?!

As I said, I am not hyped, I stay calm. The biggest games this year are multiplat anyway. Think about it.

Bioshock², Modern Warfare², Max Payne³, Assassins Creed ² are the games to get this year. They will play a very important role for both Xmas lineups.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Yep the multi-plat games are the ones which will be huge and am hyped for them. The more games the merrier as I can play them thanks to rentals. MS buying any of those companies would be huge but come on be a little realistic.

Something like Mass Effect 2 on PS3 would not cause a stir but damn a Kojima 360 exclusive.........heads will roll.

I know MS has lot's of monies but the cost to purchase any one of those studios would easily be close the budget the gaming division has; I think I'm correct in saying Bioware cost something stupid like 800 million to purchase. Imagine what one of those big boys would cost.

Since the recession is kickin' in, all companies are not as expensive as they were before. Square Enix shares were at a 5-year-low 3 months ago e.g. Especially Japanese developers have a hard time with recession + strong yen. MS still has that 25 billion USD cash-pile they are sitting on + 3.7 billion they borrowed for acquisitions. But anyway, it won't happen! ...but they could.

The best thing that could have ever happened to MS was the failed Yahoo-Deal. Lucky MS. (But for some strange reason MS-Haters bring this up to show that MS is not as powerful as it used to be. Gotta love cyber Che Guevaras.)

sry i didn't even read your post

i just knew that you were talking about buying studios, and i just guessed .

my bad

I am pretty sure he is talking about the motion control stuff. Probably has some game from BigGames that they are really feeling good about. There are probably several different reasons for them to be excited for this E3. Lots of potential big changes for them.
