Currently listening to the latest podcast. In the middle of hearing fourzerotwo talk about MW2:

The "exotic" place Major is going to is Baghdad for the iRockBand event for the troops.

Then Major started talking about the tickets he has to give away for folks who want to be in the MS press briefing (this is not tickets for the show floor, airfare or any of that. JUST tickets to be at the MS press briefing) and he said:

"I will guarantee, if you win tickets, you're going to see things that are once in a lifetime."

e: "Yeah, the winners of the tickets will look back on our E3 conference and say 'yeah I was there when they announced that.'"

Microsoft has secured Konami as an in house developer? Not big enough
Microsoft announces Halo 4 , big but not once in a lifetime.

Microsoft unveils a portable gaming system? A new slim 360?
These would be once in a lifetime. It would be history and cannot be changed. Developers come and go, exclusives are stolen, and then shared.. nothing is concrete.

So it must be new hardware of some kind.
Or he's just full of marketing BS

I would like to wager that it is is some form of holographic interface. That would be the only thing to me that would constitute once in a lifetime. A new interactive technology is the thing stories are made from.

Maybe the bought Sony and will stop making games for the PS3 and all their future games will not only come out on the 360 :D (except for Heavy Rain, I hope they kill that title cuz it looks dumb and people are hyping it just cuz of now outdated graphics!)
