No....I'm not quite sure what your looking at, but the game only has 9 reviews on Game Rankings, and only 8 are being used in the actual score because ONM is still a fairly new magazine. The other articles are previews. And if you actually read the reviews your using in this topic, for Rush and Rush Adventure, you'll see they say things like "best Sonic game since the Genesis days" and "better then the 3D ones". I haven't read a critical review yet saying the Dreamcast titles are better. This may be your opinion, but it is not an opinion held by critics or anyone outside of the Sonic fan community. Secret Rings was considered the best 3d Sonic yet by critics, and it scored a 70%. I doubt the Adventure titles would score any better if released today. |
Sonic Adventure, and Sonic Adventure 2, are far greater than any other Sonic game after it. Sure, "some" people say that Sonic and the Secret Rings is the best 3D Sonic game, but more would disagree. Sure, "some" people say that Rush, and Rush Adventure are the best Sonic games since the Genesis days, but more would disagree. Everything works out in such a way as to just look at the scores in Game Rankings, which puts all the games at their place. If the games do not score higher than the Adventure games, they aren't better, as seen as a whole, of all the reviewers. You are wrong.

No, no I'm not.
The Sonic Adventure titles, released today, would score 6s. Just look at the scores for the generally improved Gamecube ports. They got some pretty sorry scores.
Many people have sentimental attachments to the Adventure games due to rose tinted nostalgia glasses and the like, but ask a Sonic fan on any of the major forums, Sonic Stadium for example, and they'll MOSTLY tell you the Rush titles are better. They'll tell you Sonic works better in 2D.
I'm sorry, but your wrong. You can go ahead and push your opinion as fact, I honestly don't care, as I don't really have a favorite game play style, as the Adventure games, Rush, Genesis, and Secret Rings games all had their faults. But Sonic's 2D DS adventures are generally considered superior to anything Sonic has done in 3D.
In regards to Heroes, critics and the public alike where weird with it. Critics called it a step in the right direction, gave it decent scores, and most fans hated. Now the critics act like they never liked it, and go back to saying has as never been a good 3D Sonic game. They've been rather consistent, however, on saying that Sonic's 2D affairs are better. Their opinion on Secret Rings remains to be seen.
