Skate is an amazing game. More people should download the demo off Xbox Live and give this game a chance. EA nailed the game play on this one.

I played the demo of Sk8... amazed it was 1080p @ 60fps :D, but I gather after all the years of playing THPS, it can seem a little more challenging to do simple tricks. Don't get me wrong I actually like it and tried to compare sk8 to proving ground (demo).

Sk8 feels more realistic i.e. I like the way you slide at the top of the lip which reminded me of real sk8n. I really enjoyed the sixaxis side as well, it actually gave a more realistic feel, and enhanced the gameplay imo ( I only like sixaxis if it enhances the gameplay i.e like little things like HS with Kai's arrows etc or folk lore....not full blown motion.)

THPS is very safe and familiar. It has been what people are used to after some many years. It's easy to do kick flip into a manual - 180o nollie - into a fs grind on the rail...kick flip into a wall ride etc etc - all that in less than 30 seconds if you know what you are doing.

I think sk8 will flop because it's new, different and takes a little time to learn. Overall I'll definitely rent and if I still like it I'll buy it. THPS - is getting a little old and boring (played for 8yrs omg) . THPS is the king of sk8 games and many have tried before to take it down.... But you never know. At least sk8 is refreshing :D
