Suda51 is a very interesting man…but you guys already know that. We also already knew that he heavily pulls from films when creating games. So…what films inspired his works?

The Silver Case - Nouvelle Vague
Killer 7 - Battles without Honor or Humanity: Hiroshima Deathmatch
No More Heroes - Jackass: The Movie, Spaceballs, Gozu, Momento, Dirty Harry, El Topo

Suda went even further by describing where specific characters in the No More Heroes universe were derived from. Further still, we learn the anime inspirations for the in-game fake anime.

He mentioned the Johnny Knoxville inspiration in interviews before, but the rest of this is pretty new. Now I have to play The Silver Case. Even if it's not good, I have to play a game inspired by that film in any way. Man I love Suda51.

Why is he called suda51? Is that like based on the japanese wind god and his chi, or something?

His real name is Goichi Suda.  Go is Japanese for 5 and Ichi is Japanese for 1.  It would translate to "five one" instead of "fifty-one," but it still works as a pun in English.
