I think the list is pretty decent, I have not played bioshock so can't say anything about it or world of Goo.

I totally agree. SFIV is good, but its the same thing than the past games. |
You are gonna have that problem with all genres. MGS4 is there but personally it's no different than previous games. And 1 is better. So most games are the 'same thing' now, just slightly evolving.
Even if SC4 and SF4 are last gen with new shine, I still consider them considerably more enjoyable than SSBB.
Braid = best platformer... I'd settle for an honorable mention, but not being on the list is a crime.
Stop getting so excited about a Kid Icarus remake... the original NES Icarus sucked.

Arcana Heart and Suggoi! Arcana Heart 2 are, IMO, the best technical fighters released this generation. Both easily crush SF4 and SC4 in gameplay and are simply more fun.
However, SSBB has outsold SF4, SC4, AH, and AH2 all put together. It also has one of the best soundtracks of ANY game released in any generation ever. It also has lots of content (far more than Melee ever had) that you don't have to pay $1-2 a peice to unlock. You can say you have more fun with SF4 but SSBB is a genre defining game in content, polish, and sales.

This is all subjective though. It's all opinion, isnt it? My opinion is that Soul Calibur is the best fighting series Ive ever played. Street Fighter 4 is actually bloody good to. Apart from Mario Galaxy, Nintendo have made crap games this gen compared to previous. SSBB is ok, and Mario Kart Wii is just horrible. As a massive Mario Kart player it went downhill with the Gamecube version. Sigh. Damn bloody Casual. Nintendo games used to be about skill. They certainly aren't anymore.:(
While I thought World of goo was an awesome game, I would have made it the runner up, possibly along with Braid, and given Portal the win.
Also Mass Effect should be up there somewhere.

No, it's not all subjective. 8 million sales vs games that can barely break 2 million sales isn't subjective at all.
And yeah, I'm not a big fan of this gen's Mario Kart either. Still... when did you get so bitter? I used to enjoy your posts a lot more (back when you used to go rounds with MikeB).

Are we having another round of SSBB vs SF4/SC4? We don't get nearly enough of those!
Signature goes here!

So.. why isn't Wii Sports or Nintendogs on the list, then?
