What was so sad about Lost Odyssey? I guess I missed that part.

*If it was the ending do not spoil it. I have yet to complete the game.*

Lirum's death was the saddest part for me.  As for the ending I thought it was mostly upbeat.

Lirum's death was what I thought some of the posters were referring to but I didn't find it sad at all because I had little to no connection to the character and Kaim up that point seemed to be lacking a lot of emotion. Could be maybe because I didn't read all of the dream sequences.

For me it was like "BAM! Here is his wife. BAM! She is now dying and Kaim remembers. BAM! Let's become emotional all of a sudden."

Then the kids start singing.

I was like "Huh?"

Whew, that's a relief. After reading some of the LO threads I thought I was the only one that thought this scene was goofy. Heck, in one of the dream sequences it mentions how the death of his previous families stopped making him emotional at all, but for some reason running into his daughter who he thought was dead for years makes him bawl like a baby? Naw, not buying that.

OT: None as of yet have really done it to me, but I have had a decent amount of "F'K YEAH" moments.

None for me at this point.

I don't think a game has made me cry yet this generation. It has happened in the past -- the suikoden games have managed it, I think... possibly the end of FF X? At least it left me feeling a bit empty for a while...

The finale of Braid, where you're basically watching a cutscene (don't want to spoil anything) definitely gave me chills up my spine... I think that kind of blue fire is probably harder to achieve than just writing something engaging and sad enough to make people cry.

Portal also had at least one moment like that, though it was mixed in with survival adrenaline.

I'm waiting for a PS3 fanboy to come in here and say FFXIII :)

I'm a grown man. Video games/movies/music/tv shows don't make me cry. However, I would be unhappy or fulfilled if my favorite character died, but I don't cry for fictional characters. I would cry only for REAL things that affect my life in a negative or really. really, really positive way.

I think Braid's end did make me cry. I'm still not quite sure why. It was kind of disturbing.

Are you kidding me?

How can anybody not cry when Dumbo's mom gets locked up?

uh, none i guess. it's kind of hard for me to cry in games and i don't think i ever have. the just don't seem to have that kind of effect on me
