It does pan a bit though yes?.... the Retro Evolved that comes on the Galaxies disc is a single rectangular level, but it i slightly larger than the screen, and there is a kind of bounding box for the ship so that it stays relatively in the centre of the screen. (so if you go up the the "wall" of the level you willl see the ship near the middle, and blackness outside the grid that is the level.

Unless I am getting Galaxies mixed up with RE now.

That is the way Retro Evolved is.

Ah, then it is the same on the Wii.

The Galaxies are the same in principal as Retro Evolved.... except there are different shapes and sizes for the levels, a number of new enemies and a couple of things that aren't really enemies, like the flippers, which are white squares that you can't go though, nor shoot through.... but the enemies can, and they move about. Or the minelayers, which you can't touch as they kill you, but otherwise they just go in straight lines through the levels laying mines, and if you move over a mine you can set off a chain reaction for some huge points (the mines don't hurt the ship)... then there are the black holes, which don't hurt you but they cause a vortex, so your ship and all the enemies are spinning around and toward the centre of the level.

Also you get a little robot drone thing, which can be set to different tasks, like simply helping you fire, or defending you by ramming close by enemies and such.... and by collecting geoms you can train the drone in each of the different tasks so that it is more efficient.
The levels increas in difficulty as you unlock them by collecting geoms from the level, as well as rewards for getting gold/silver/bronze medals

And each level has an online leaderboard of it's own... one of them I got lucky and managed a huge score that is ranked 16th currently (it was 14th)... but I have no chance of getting near the top in the early levels as people clearly practice on them a lot.... the first training level I think I am in the late 300s (out of about 40,000 I think)

----

Seriously if you enjoy RE and have a Wii, buy Galaxies. It's awesome (you don't seem to going by your collection though) And because it doesn't sell so well you can find it cheap as dirt.... I got my copy for £8 (Which I think is 800-900 Microsoft points)

Retro Evolved doesn't have the flippers and I haven't seen any minelayers.  It has these feather type enemies that come out of the corners, and this red ship that I call the bulldozer that you have to shoot from the side because it is pushing things that block your shots towards its front, and it has what I call the worms that appear with a loud shrieking noise, and the black holes, they either collect enemies inside them and explode sending blue dots flying towards you or you can shoot them when they are spinning and the faster they're going when you destroy them, then the more points you can get as a result.

There's also Geometry Wars 2 on 360, and I think it might be quite a bit easier to get achievements on that one.,  It has different modes of play while the first one just has retro and evolved, and I know from playing the trial of that game that one of Geo Wars 2's modes is a time trial where you can keep adding to the number of multipliers you have even if you get killed and in retro evolved as soon as you get killed you lose all your multipliers.

Yes, the feather enemies you speak of I assume are the wanderers (purple and look like a pinwheel, they don't attack you)

the red ship shaped like a horseshoe magnet is called a repulsor.

And the "black hole" is called a gravity well, it is a red circle at first, but when you shoot it it starts sucking everything in, and you have to force a stream of fire at it from close up to kill it, otherwise it explodes and releases smaller white circles that home in on you pretty fast.

The worm is callled a snake.

Also there should be a blue diamond enemy called a grunt that homes in on you..
A pink enemy called a Spinner (homes in on you fast, and splits into 2 small spinners when you shoot it)
A green one called a Weaver (homes in, but runs away if you start firing in it's direction)
And a tiny, triangular enemy called a mayfly, which likely appears pretty late into it, and acts the same as the proton.

-----

Here are the new enemies in Galaxies (I already named the "not really enemies" so I will keep their info short)

Mutator - heads to the nearest enemy and hi-jacks it.... turning it into:

Mutated - large fast homing enemy

Neutron - Another large and really fast homing enemy

NUFO - shaped like an eye, they exist outside the gameplay map, and will swarm across it... they cannot harm you, but you can only shoot them when they are on the map, and they run from your fire.

UFO - Larger version of NUFO, a singular one will appear on occasion and quickly loop around the centre of the map before scooting off... worth a LOT of points but hard to hit if you were in the middle of a swarm of other enemies.

Generator - Awesome enemy looks like a gravity well but has 2 circles (one inside the other) it appears with a really nice metallic "clonk" and will release a swarm of other enemies (I think I have only encountered Wanderers, Grunts, Spinners and Weavers though)... if you don't kill it it will release more swarms.

Dart - Arrowhead shaped, and moves kind of like the snakes except a lot faster, and they don't have the tail.

Meteor - Red squares that simply fly from one side of the screen and out the other enne-masse.... so you generally have to stay still when a meteor shower happens.

Asteroids - Just biggers versions of almost any of the previous enemies mentioned...however they do not attack... you have to break them open by shooting them, which releases 2 medium versions of the enemies that spin off... and when you break the medium ones you will get to the actual enemies that then act as they would normally.

Cell mass - Incredibly annoying stuff... it is basically like watching cells reproduce... so if you left it long enough it would fill the entire level, you can shoot through it but it will re-produce again if you leave any behind, so it gets in the way a lot whilst trying to fight other enemies.

-----

non-enemies: (these do not appear like other enemies, nor can you shoot them... they are part of the level already)

Black Hole (causes the ship and enemies to spin around... changes direction periodically)

Wormhole (transports you to another wormhole)

Flipper (squares that get in the way)

Mine Layer (technically it does appear in some level, but you can't shoot at them. They lay mines which you can use to kill enemies)

The feathers are the mayflys.

Do you know what I got on Pacifism in Geometry Wars 2 on the 360?

64,000,000~. I cannot make that up. Before that ,23,000,000 was my highest, but then I just went postal once and got into the 60m range.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

Congratulations on your awesome score.   :)  I don't have Geo Wars 2 yet.  I liked the fact that in the time trial part of the demo you didn't lose all your multipliers for getting killed.

Ah... yes I was thinking that after I posted it.

Geometry Wars is very addicting. You nevver want to stop playing until you pass a certain threshold. I''ll stop at 4 million, no 8 million, no 10....12... I'M SLEEPING MOM!!

What is in Retro Evolved 2 by the way? I have seen some screens, it has nicer colours (unless it was just that screenshot)

I mean what does it have in the way of modes and such... and are there any enemies not in RE nor Galaxies?
