Forums - Gaming - Will Gamestop allow me to do this?

I recently purchased a 360 during a trip to the US, (I live in Canada btw) Also with my 360 I got a used copy of Lost Odyssey! I just got to disc 4 and I decided to install the disc just like I have with the previous ones only to find that the Disc can't be installed because it's scratched.(I tried cleaning it but to no avail) My question is will my Gamestop/EB games in Canada allow me to exchange LO for a working one? I still have my reciepts or do I have to go to my local Blockbuster and do the old Switch-A-Roo

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

I'd try Gamestop first. They have that 30 day take back on used games if I remember correctly. If they try to state some bs policy about not being allowed to take back games bought in another country which not sure why they would even have that policy then do the Blockbuster switch.  Little funny Blockbuster story - when Animal Crossing came out on GCN they included the small 59 memory card with the game.  Some one forgot to take out all the memory cards from the game cases and I opened one up for the hell of it and found them still there.  I then quickly opened the rest up and took all the memory cards.

Whoa Seth you snapped

lol epic wins seth. But back to the original topic, if you find that gamestop doesn't accept the game, you could always try buying some displex. I bought a dvd that was pretty scratched up from amazon (may the seller die plx). Anyways, long story short- a few drops of displex and a few minutes of rubbing removed all visible scratches and the dvd played perfectly.

I just want to remind you that PS3 discs don't scratch

Yeah but PS3's also can't play Lost Odyssey or other Mistwalker games :( Also the game wasn't scratched by a 360 it just seems to have been abused like someone kept it out of it's case and did some damage to the disc. When 360's scratch discs aren't they in a big circle?

Well gamestop does have a 30 day return policy and if they do happen to mention anything about it being from the US tell them to show you where its in their policy and i guarantee that they'll freeze or make up some excuse because about 95% of the time they say "well its store policy" it isn't really store policy. The thing that makes the employees be dicks sometimes is because i heard they don't get paid much. But anyways lol just try it out and if they give you too much trouble just go to Blockbuster
