Capcom Japan May Pull Out Of E3

Looks like Capcom's travel lockdown may not be confined to just Keiji Inafune and Malmö, Sweden. Turns out Capcom Japan may yank all international travel over swine flu fears, which would include, yes, E3.

Capcom have told British trade site Develop that the Japanese branch of the company are yet to commit 100% to attending the upcoming trade show, as they are still mulling over the decision in the wake of a swine flu outbreak in the Keihanshin area, in which Capcom's head office (in Osaka) is located.

Now, if this goes ahead - and it's still an "if", since a final decision is yet to be made - it would not mean that Capcom would pull out of the event. Capcom's US and European branches would be more than capable of manning the booths and showing off the games.

It would just mean that Capcom's Japan-based personnel, like Keiji Inafune and Ben "Hot Tub" Judd, may not be making the trip.

Capcom USA have not responded to our request for confirmation on this, so we've turned to Capcom Japan for answers. We'll update when we hear more.

people are so stupid.. regular flu kills 150,000 people a year. swine flu has killed 1 person in the us and it said it 'Despite the scale of the alert, WHO officials noted on April 29 that the symptoms are extremely mild and the majority of people infected with the virus have made a full recovery without need of medical attention or antiviral drugs.'

In the USA, its 32k-36k flu deaths annually. And six now from Swine flu.

The "regular Flu" kills about 36,000 to 38,000 a year..

And the swine flu has killed more then one person in the US, but... I don't know how many had previous complications..

i never said just in the us, i said worldwide. actually worldwide it is 'Seasonal flu kills 250,000 to 500,000 people globally and infects up to a third of the population each year.'

pig flu has killed 76 people worldwide. it would make sense for capcom to say they were not going to travel during flu season that is a more likely threat than just lie because they have no good games/announcements

my family is actually laughing at how stupid this is since the media is going ape shit on it since its nothing new that flu kills people and this is a type that people can recover naturally for the most part if you are genetically adept.
