Forums - Microsoft - Why is The Last Remnant so Freaking Hard!!

I agree. This game is so freaking random its broken. I remember one boss fight i just couldn't win because i kept getting 1 shotted from the boss with his AoE attacks, and the minions were freaking insane. Came back a month later, and did the same fight, but this time everyone hits like a baby and i breezed the fight. RANDOM!!!!!!!

Now I'm at the 7 bases or whatever, and I just can't beat the boss. This game is just to random for my liking. Skill doesn't mean anything here, its just all luck. How dumb. When things are going normally this game is a blast, but the random hardness in the fights are a game breaker and I had to stop playing it. Really annoying.

Oh btw I have the PC version, so you can actually save after the pre battles at the bases. So I didn't have to go through that long pre fight like you. But the boss is impossible so it doesn't change much.

Eh, I finished it and my BR was quite high. There were definitely some challenging fights though!

Having monsters level with the characters causes balancing issues. An RPG that is not well balanced can either make it too easy or restrict the ways you are allowed to proceed to the game. Ruins the game!

Oblivion I had difficulty with it on default settings. i made the enemies the weakest possible and the game is more enjoyable as you beat the crap out of the AI enemies and get to pass the game.
The levelling up in modern RPGs is stupid you should get stronger and the enemies strength should remain unchanged.
I have heard The Last Remnant's battle system is broken making the game virtually unplayable.

Sorry but thats a load of crap.  I put 60 hours into the game lol....it was hardly unplayable.  I thought the battles were tough but I never felt like I had no hope of winning, although like any RPG it sometimes comes down to luck.  Other times it came down to specific stratagies.

I thought the game was fun.  The only problem I had with it were the slowdown issues and really that wasn't much of issue for me, especially after installing it to the drive.
