hmmm let see, 360 arcade 199, another 70-90 for 120gb drive, wireless controller 25, fable and halo 3 used for about $40 each, equals around 400 and this system is $549 ok does any see a problem?

You're doing sums in American dollars, the prices listed here are for Australian dollars.

A PS3 here costs $700 (to be fair, normally with a game), and the Elite costs $550 with two games...

It's in Australian dollars and we have 10% GST. Wii is $400 AUD and PS3 is $700 AUD.

EDIT: Starcraft beat me to it.

It's $500 AUD before tax and at the current exchange rate of 77 US cents in the Aussie Dollar it works out to $385 US. The point though is that it's 150 more then the Wii and 150 less then the PS3.
