Forums - PC - 41% of all PC software is pirated

Wow thats much lower than I expected. Sucks for Devs, but that number is overinflated by the crowd that would have never bought the game.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Good. I hope PC gaming dies. I just have a thing against it

YEAH me too

PC gaming won't die, though there are way too many cheaters. Their money go to MMORPG games, cheats and hardwares.

I'm far above the average then. I pirated about... 100% of my PC games =/

PC gaming pretty much died when PlayStation was launched and it got forgoten when Xbox was launched.

Wow only 41%? It has to be much more.

This is why casual games and MMORPGs are what is contributing to the growth of the pc market. Casual games are cheap enough for most not to worry about pirating, and cheap enough for people who don't know how to pirate and aren't into that much gaming. MMORPGs are growing because they are fun and offer a substantial monetary gain to companies when they are successful. This is due to subscriptions. Ad based pc gaming will also see a significant rise in the future.

So how do you explain the huge rise of the traditional business model on the digital distribution services that dwarf the decline of the retail sales?
