I would say that the reason M08 sales are so down, is the lack of next-gen hardware to push higher sales.

Looking at Madden sales from last-gen, sales increased each year, as hardware sales increased. Madden 07 for X360 was just about the only one to break that trend.

So IMO, through the gen, as h/w increases, so will Madden sales.

Maybe - not sure. It still has a holiday season to sell through I guess.

The big hurt are the PS2 sales - down considerably (60%?) from last year - even though the PS2 install base continues to grow.

No question that Wii / PS3 Madden sales will increase next year - PS2 will continue to drop, and 360 should increase a little.

Wow, Bioshock is doing consistently well. That's great, I just finally ordered my copy of it today. I'm glad Amazon ships internationally. (as I see no release date in sight for a JP release)

I think Madden will definitely increase its numbers next year on the 360 once the install base increases. I just finally bought my copy of Madden 08(JP release was this week), after not owning a Madden game in a few years. I guess it took them +1 month to translate the manual and boxart, because the whole game is in English, haha!:)

I predict BioShock will sell *very* well when Halo 3 is released, it's will appeal to the FPS people, and be different enough from Halo 3 to compliment it well. Skate and Madden could also do well in the Halo 3 surge. I also think that although Skate obviously bombed, it will have long legs and do closer to 300k than 200k.  Everyone who has played this game seems to like it so it will have really good word of mouth.

I think Stranglehold and Medal of Honor will not only decline rapidly as it is, but they will be particularly hurt by Halo 3. I expect Medal of Honor to get killed as similar-but-far-superior games (Halo 3, Orange Box, Call of Duty 4) come out. It will become obsolete, much like NCAA once Madden comes out.

IMO though, I see MOH and Stranglehold as being very strong budget-price games, like Saints Row and Dead Rising have been. Both games had good openings, followed by disasterous legs, but wound up doing 850k+ slowly but surely. It seems once decently-reviewed games hit that $30 bargain price, they tend to do well.

Bioshock, as well as Mass Effect are both scheduled to come out in Japan. However, a timeframe for them hasn't been announced. I figure both games will be Q1 2008.

oblivion got a price drop 2 weeks ago, its 29.99

Blue Dragon is underrated, and i blame the negative bias everyone has about the game to the media and their lame reviews. I honestly think its the most underrated game of the year. PLAY IT BEFORE YOU JUDGE IT. THE DEMO DOES NOT ACCURATELY REPRESENT THE GAME.

Eternal Sonata could debut in the top 10 next week. I'm hoping so.

Great To see Bioshock selling well.
