You do realize that The Apple Application store is montrous success right. They have already had over a billion downloads. Thats why Sony is now aggressively pushing PSN so much. They realize that the Ipod touch/Iphone is eating into their marketshare. They are competing more than you think. They both share a similar 18-35 year old demographic, they both have multimedia functions, they both have digital distribution, and they both play games. Apple is already getting suuport from game studios like EA, Sega, Konami, Ubisoft, and Square Enix.
