Hmm it doesn't really matter how many people you got - what counts is number of active and spending money players (this is micro transaction MMo right ? )

O.o I don't play Everquest....because when I played it, I didn't like it. Or WoW. The only MMO I've gotten into was City of Heroes (which I got out of because I'm cheap). I figured I'd just give the game a chance. o.x Why so hostile? lol.

 

 Because the "enthusiasim" is fake.  I was on the Alpha and Beta selection for Free Realms (unfortantly my computer did not play nice with any of the builds).  I really like SOE as division of Sony and have played and enjoyed most of their games.  It just really urks me that PS3 fanboys would get all excited over this game when most of them haven't even tried SOE's flagship title.

Everquest II is definitely the title I think of when I think SOE. I don't think it's terrible or anything. I'd play it any day over WoW. But it just wasn't really my type of thing.

I'm just glad SOE are making some new games. While I'm extremely EXTREMELY disappointed DC Universe got pushed back to 2010, I was wanting to see how Free Realms played (partially because I want to determine if it's something I'd want to play on my PS3 when it hits the system eventually). My craptop is in the process of dying so I figured that Free Realms might be interesting to have on my PS3.

 

 If they were smart EQ2 would have been one of the very first MMOs put on a next gen console.  Despite the fact that it's a much deeper game than WoW it has a fraction of a fraction of the users... (400k ish... maybe less now).  I don't think that Free Realms is a game that will transition over the PS3 well.  If this game was put on the Wii it would have some moderate success, but I just don't think that the PS3 has Free Realms target audience.
