Its cause its 3 full games. They could have released it 800 pts each(10 bucks) or have them all 3 at 29.99. You get a case and a book so technically you get getting more value now :)

Nice pickup by MS, if only for nostalgia. I can beat this game on a dollar, it's such a joke to me now. The weapons were great but it doesn't compare to Touhou.

Seriously, Sony should pick up a studio to do a legitimate Touhou game and ring in the SHmuprevolution.

best shmup ever. I can't really play any others because the difficulty level is just non-existant lol.

PS: they aren't in fighter planes. They float. They have magical powers and live in an alternate dimension. They like cucumbers and cute snacks and kawaii, but if they ever fought on earth it would be torn asunder. They're pretty much godly beings who hang out and fight each other over childish arguments. It's so great.

Any word on this getting a european release?

*ugh* Damn you getting my hopes up. I hate Microsoft. Every year it seems like they don't make a single game that I'm interested in but then they release 5 games in the last quarter. They do know that gamers play games during those first three quarters don't they?

And while we're having a shmup love-in, this is my favourite game on the Blast Works disc, rRootage:

Bullet dodging glory in its purest form, with dozens of levels and four different gameplay modes, each featuring different dodging speeds, bombs and shields to protect yourself with.

It's available as a freeware PC game on all major platforms, and apparently there's even an iPhone port.

You really dont like this? FPS, RPG, Racing games are dime a dozen these days. This is something special...

Halo wars and Ninja Blade were 2 games that I really enjoyed playing this year so far. While MS didn't have bombshell releases this year, they got something for everyone. GTA4 DLC (which is longer than most games), Star Ocean, Race Pro...now this... there are quality games to play on the 360 in 2009, but its all niche stuff.

 There are games that are far more uniqe then this. That doesn't make it fun. It's far from special. Retro, yea. Special? No.
