When did we last hear about Serious Sam 3? 2007? Oh dear. Far too long. Long enough, even, to worry the game has been quietly given the arse.

But no! Developers Croteam have posted a quick update on their company website, letting the world know that they have "recently started the development on two games". One of them is, well, not the "tactical military sim" mentioned a few years back, as that's been canned. So who knows what it is.

And the other is Serious Sam 3, for which Croteam "are pretty close in signing the publishing deal".

Still coming? Good news. Only "recently started development"? Saddening.

How can a Serious Sam game fail?

I mean it's Serious Sam....

there is no amazing story, no depth, you just point a weapon at hordes of crazy looking enemy's and shoot..

One of the most simple (yet Great stupid-fun) shooters out there..

 QFT. Serious Sam is mindless, guntoting fun. Big guns and bigger enemies, what more could you want.

The race is on! Will Serious Sam 3 beat DNF to the marketplace? If it does, this causes 3D Realms to deserve a serious smackdown. Sam goes right after the Duke niche for FPS. If they can get a game out that is sufficiently good before DNF, that is an issue I think.

Sam = wacky characters, over the top shooting, hidden goodies, in-game jokes, and wise cracks.

Actually, SS2 was racing with DNF. And that was some years ago.

Anyway, this is great news, there was long silence from croteam, and it was not looking good. I'm certainly looking forward to SS3.

i loved first 2 games. i hope they will make it on ps360 as well. but they should make it a little less linear cause the second while really suffered from all those scripts.
