Forums - Gaming - Any good rpgs

Alright I'm looking for suggestions to some good rpgs for the PC that have a world map you can explore like Dragon Quest 8 and Final Fantasy 7-9.

Yous know what I'm talking about. I'm sick of these rpgs thats coming out now where the exploration is taken out of it and they just feel like a chore to play. So anyone know any please drop a post.

Fallout 3 and Oblivion are both probably good starts, though they aren't JRPG's like Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy.

If you're looking for JRPG's, I'm not sure which of those you'll find on the PC, does the Witcher have a world map you can explore?

that is more of a console type of RPGs...

I know FFVII and FFVIII were both on PC's (though they were both atrocious ports), I don't know about FFIX and DQVIII though.

If you're just looking for JRPG's, it's tough to find them but if you're just looking for RPG's there are plenty. As for the open world map to explore, I suppose he'll just have to do some research.

If you are looking for an RPG with a great story, a huge world to explore and a fantastic atmosphere you have to go for Gothic. The first and second one are plain awesome (the third one sucks, though).

Another must-buy for every RPG fan is of course Baldurs Gate. Especially the second one kick major ass. Incredible Story, lovely NPCs (Minsk and Edwin FTW! ^^), hundreds of quests, epic soundtrack and on top of that pretty challenging fights. And the best is, that there are plenty of mods out there which provide you wtih even more (challenging) quests and some new NPCs for your party. Arguably one of the best (if not the best) RPGs ever made.

Well I'm a PS3 owner and I have Fallout 3 and Oblivion and they are great but I've played them to death and every other rpg on the PS3 has been crap really. Basicly I'm looking for any rpg not just jrpgs but rpgs that have good exploration in them and not just a path you follow like eternal soneta or rise of the argonauts.

It's odd.  I own both of them for the PC and I still don't understand why they have bad reputations.

This is only going off what I've heard and a friend that owned the FFVII PC version so I guess I shouldn't have said I know but tried I heard.
