Why do you say that? Your implication is that MS is copying nintendo. They aren't copying anything. They are leapfroging. I don't understand how anyone can not understand how transformational the ZCam could be.
Microsoft should save this for the next Xbox......Give us a regular controller like the 360 pad (with better D-Pad) AND a 3D Motion Sensing Camera with the Xbox 3 @ launch. This way, Hardcore & Casual gamers will be interested, and it will be different than what the Wii offers for casuals.

As pointed out, the potential uses of this device goes beyond just the 360. Is this going to get people to jump onboard with it...probably not, but it will certianly make a FAR easier to integrate into the next console, by prototyping it on this console. I'll wait to see the functionality of the thing, before I condemn it.

If MS is going to bundle it with Your In the Movies 2 then I see it working for that game..Also keep in mind that Rainbow Six Vegas 2 had the option of putting your face on your custom made character...So i guess that this tech would advance that concept even farther....and of course for Windows this would be beneficial...
Well they prob. took as long as possible to plan and market this controller properly across all audiences and age groups, whether it be for operating Windows, Live or console games. The question is if it will work like avatars worked and BK3 worked, actually attract a wider demographic. My guess is not yet, it will take a long time to change attitudes about the xbox market.
Remember that we dk how it all works but it will be interesting to see if measuring the angle of your pointing finger could supplement the ir pointer function on the wiimote for fps games.

Like one guy posted.....Microsoft could release this and bundle it with all new consoles and advertise is MASSIVELY to attract as many people as possible to the Xbox 360, and see how people react to and use it. Then with the next Xbox, Microsoft can again bundle it with every console but from the launch, making it a standard than companies can develop for. Microsoft should also offer the new motion camera to all 360 owners for FREE, or a very low price like $9.99-$19.99 so current 360 owners don't feel alienated. This device could very well be the next Xbox's answer to the Wii. Imagine the next Xbox advertising GTA5, Halo 4 & Gears of War 3 with a 360-type normal controller, and Wii type games with the 3D Motion camera, and then Microsoft says BOTH controlling devices will be included with EVERY Next Gen Xbox (3rd Xbox)......if marketed properly, Microsoft could have a BIG WIN on their hands, and possibly DOMINATE next gen!!! I can't wait for E3 2009 now more than ever!!!
