"Are there many people who would like to play with Japanese voices?”" Yes ffs!

No.

Come on.  Of all the millions of copies an Xbox 360 version of FFXIII might sell, I doubt if there would be 100,000 prospective buyers that would voluntarily play through the title in Japanese if the option was offered.

lol you know so little..

Now there is an eloquent counterargument.

You realise that we are talking about the combining of two miniscule sub-niches to create the population that would utilise this feature?  It consists of:

-Japanese living in the West who feel like playing in their native tongue/Westerners learning Japanese who play Final Fantasy and wish to play in Japanese.

-Pretentious internet-dwellers who believe they alone are experiencing Final Fantasy the way it was meant to be by playing in a language they do not comprehend.

Dont get me wrong, I will probably get the game on PS3 because that is where I will have to get Versus, but the argument that the removal of this feature will have any substantial effect on sales is ridiculous.

YES PLEASE! japanese voice acts!

i only prefer japanese voices in movies, because i like using the subtitles and often the english voice and the subtitle rarely make sense together.

"Its like sex, but with a winner!"

MrBubbles Review Threads: Bill Gates, Jak II, Kingdom Hearts II, The Strangers, Sly 2, Crackdown, Zohan, Quarantine, Klungo Sssavesss Teh World, MS@E3'08, WATCHMEN(movie), Shadow of the Colossus, The Saboteur

If I had the choice I would play through with english subs and Japanese voices, since that is how I watch all of my Kng Fu movies. But if it doesnt have it, it will not stop me from buying the game

Isn't this posted already? Just asking.

OT: I would love a Japanese voice-over with English subtitle.

An old interview with Kitase:

Of course, gamers wanted to know how this decision will affect the game. Kitase said, "As for the [game] contents, basically we are planning to be the same. Regarding the media situation, we have to consider [both] Blu-ray and other format [DVD] and it might be different." When speficially asked how many DVD discs it might be, he said that is "undecided".

The Anime scene is a big indicator of the possible demand for Japanese audio with english subs ( The anime demographic are generaly the JRPG demographic also ).

-Anime is becoming increasingly popular in west ( Naruto,  Bleach , One Piece & Cowboy Beepop ..the list is endless)

-Most commercial anime is released in the west is released with japanese audio & english subs.

-No self respecting Anime fan above the age of 12 would watch Anime in english.

-If there was the option to have japanese audio with english subs in the biggest JRPG this gen , you can bet your life there'd be huge demand for it.

I watch anime in Japanese even when the English dubs are available.

Tease.

dude english voiceover suck in almost every japanese game. they not only usually voiced by actors who just don't get it or are like actors on crime scene reconstruction tv shows - their voice just don't match personality of the character. not to mention that when we have english dubbing in japanese game we also have different story lines and dialogues that sounds corny, weird and unreal like in 70' or 80' tv series. look at X-Edge trailers - they not only butchered the game with bad english voice actors but also changed completely their dialogues that are really bad(it sounds like it was written by the old 90210 tv show screenplay writters). also look at Mana Khemia game - same thing, but voiceacting is even more annoying that i simply turned off ingame sound completely. the only english dub that ever worked was in Ghost in the Shell anime series and movies.

"even when the english dubs are availible" would imply that Japanese dubs>English dubs.

e.g I play my PS3 even when PSN is down
