Sega wouldn't have dropped out if not 4 PS? no kidding. Every1 would have bought nintedno 64/GC and sega's sales would still be abysmal. If they didn't drop out, they still won't be prospering either. Their fortunes kept going down after gnesis.They'd already lost a lot of consumer confidence before DC. If anything PS hurt Nintendo a lot more than sega because the GC and N64 would have done exponentially better not the DC.

Same goes for PS, I don't see millions who bought 360 jumping on ps3 at $600 because of teh blu-ray or any other stupid reason. Lets not forget that the best selling 360 model is the arcade and the elite  almost got canned. Note that the elite doesn't even cost as much as the ps3...that speaks volumes.There's a reason why the ps3 fanbase is made up of diehards while the 360's seems to have less of a voice online even with more consoles sold.

Did M$ really do it to sony? hmm...It's pretty obvious what killed SCE and ppl saying otherwise either don't see things very clearly or just want reasons to gloat for one ridiculous idea or the other.

You really believe that? It's sounding like a religious belief among you guys and if that's the case I will cease to waste my time typing. Do people really believe that hype makes up a great portion of the success of anything? Hype is just a product of corporate gloating...nothing more. Sure sony said ps2 was a supercomputer built to save the world but it was pretty obvious when the launch titles came out that that wasn't the case. Why did it go on to sell 140 mil? Didn't sony tell all those lies? Answer: with the exception of a few strange individuals, no one cares what sony said. People buy what system has the games they want to play that they can afford and that was the ps2 last gen.

If sega hadn't already duped consumers with all their bogus add-ins and outs and their short-lived console cycles, they'd have done better. that kind of behavior is more damaging thhan some stupid PR rant. This is also part  of the reason why sony is bleeding this gen out because there'll be no next-gen for them if they don't finish this one.

It's good to see the sonic guy found a new job. No wonder every sonic game has sucked since.

I don't believe Sony will willingly disband SCE... They could do so unwillingly though, in the event they continue to burn so much cash that they have to reorganize the whole company.

There were hundreds of PS3-fans that claimed, the PS3 would be profitable today. Well the PSP certainly is, same for the PS2, so if the Playstation segment still reports a loss, the PS3 has no chance to get those losses back.

A $100 price cut is a risky game to play in such a condition.
